My mom has been diabetic her whole life, and she can't/won't give herself shots, which really limits what she and my dad can do. For example, she and I can't go out of town overnight just the two of us (because I don't know how to give her a shot), nor can my dad just take off at the drop of a hat and go up north hunting--he's got to make arrangements with my grandma to make sure my mom continues to get her morning shots.
Now, at 55, she's realized life can be better. She's gotten the okay to get an insulin pump, but she's having trouble deciding on a model. She'd love some real life feedback on what users like, don't like, what the costs have been, etc...
If you have an insulin pump, please share!

I love my pump and would never want to go back to shots. Some people don't like the idea of being attached to something 24/7 but I usually don't even notice it anymore. It is just a part of me. It's also made me a much healthier person.
There are different brands but they all do the basic stuff, deliver a round the clock small amount and a larger amount when you tell it to cover the food you eat.
This is not needle free. I have to use a needle to change the site it is attached to me every 3 days. I hope your mom realizes this.
Maybe you can help her look at the different kinds and see what she likes. The sizes and colors and functions are all a little different on all of them
