My DRAMA doing my first Gather album

First it all just wouldn't do anything at all.  Then I got out of I.E. and went into Firefox and it went a little ways, and then seemed to freeze up until it seemed I needed to allow it to run (some nice security setting that wants me to know about and approve if some other program is allowed to access my computer files - I guess).  I click yes.  Then I can't see my pictures, but only see file names.  So I have to go over to where I CAN see what I have and write down the name of my folder.  Then I figured out how to do them all in one place (but don't click the wrong thing along the way or you have to start over - ha ha - groan) and then you go clean your house while all 35 of them download.  And then they ask you what you want to call them.  And that seems to be it.  Enjoy my trip to Global Market.  Yay.

Oh my!!! I had to download some special thingy from Gather and blah, blah, blah so I haven't even tried to do any photos!!!

Well I went to look at your "album" and it said, "nothing to display". You do have some pics but not 35!!!! What happened?

Wow, I have not had any of these issues so far. I'm using Firefox on a Mac running Leopard OS. I'm wondering if it's a browser-Windows interaction that's causing so many people to have these problems.

I'm sorry you had such difficulty!

I have some people I can't visit here at Gather when I'm on I.E. , or I get bounced clear off the web, so Gather is weird with I.E. Nobody ever makes me get bounced off when I'm in Firefox.

Funny, since I thought that was the main one ...

Gather used to be a simple and direct site to use but it gets weirder and more cockamamie with every "upgrade", for sure.
I saw pictures but no album also.
I'm not sure what to do, I haven't even looked at the new stuff yet.
I still want to know if people can find your latest pictures to comment on if they've all been
put into albums.

Internet Explorer is definitely NOT the best web browser; it's just popular because it comes with Windows. I don't like Safari from Apple either- it's incompatible with too many things.

I don't think some people realize how to start using another web browser or that they can get Firefox (Opera is good too) for free. And of course, to keep it updated.

You are "suppose" to be able to put those pics in an album but don't ask me how!!! Good luck getting the Gather helpdesk!!!

I did the download thingy and I was in IE and so on...
I uploaded 2 pics and it took less than 3 minutes.
That is probably a record for me.

To put the photos to in an album you must first click where is says "Create an album". Name your album and then when you go to share a photo you will see a dropdown menu that will say "no album". Click there and choose the name of the album you want to upload to.

I didn't find the process too painful when I did an album yesterday.

Do you have the most recent version of Firefox?

I only made albums from photos I already had on Gather. I really see no usefulness in albums for my new photos. I like photo essays.

I haven't tried photos since the upgrade either. Sorry you had all of those problems though. You have a lot of patience.

I haven't tried it yet myself, I have to admit. Well, I tried folders, and sorted all of my pictures. But otherwise, I haven't uploaded anything yet.

I spent my afternoon looking at your photo's. Where as I did not seem to get any point's from it, I had the time of my life! It was worth every sec. =) I figure the point system is Gather's problem.

Peter, you can make anything sound bad, or good, and I hate this new upgrade, I don't get whatever it is that I used to get when someone commented on my posts or pictures, and when I try to open a mail that someone sends me, it says error, where do you want to go now, and I'd like to tell it, but there is no space for that. Glad you got your pictures up though, I think mine are all still there I guess I should go and check, and I am using Firefox to post, so much quicker and easier and it keeps updating itself, and it is free.
Who knows what is going on with the points. I suspect this whole thing will clear up as soon as they are ready for the next upgrade.
