Claim No. 2: Obama has had a close, ongoing relationship with domestic terrorist Bill Ayers.
Obama's web site to fight "smears" by spinning the truth says Obama and Ayers "served on the board of an education-reform organization in the mid-1990s," and claims that most of the stories about Obama and Ayers are phony or exaggerated.
It forgot, however, to mention the fact that Obama and Ayers worked on a board distributing millions of dollars with the aim of radicalizing Chicago schoolchildren.
It also fails to mention that Obama kicked off his first political campaign in Ayers' living room. (Although Obama is now saying it wasn't the first event - So, it was still the home of an unrepentant terrorist.)
Obama's web site still does not refute the fact that the Weathermen Underground bombed the Pentagon, the Capitol, the home of a New York Supreme Court Justice and a police station. FBI agent Larry Grathwohl, who infiltrated the group, tells of Ayers teaching him to make bombs and saying "In revolution, some innocent people need to die."
Obama's web site claims that "Smear groups and now a desperate McCain campaign are trying to connect Barrack to William Ayers using age-old guilt by association techniques.
The truth is that McCain and Obama critics are asking why Obama continues to associate with Ayers who as recently as 2001 said he didn't do enough and wished he had bombed more. Nice guy, huh? Makes you wonder about Obama's judgment and values since he apparently sees nothing wrong with associating with Ayers today. And the mainstream media shows its lack of values and moral fiber by downplaying the association.
