Rosa’s Dream:In this dream Hubby and I were with another couple in someone else‘s front yard, and we were watching another person with a camera. It wasn't your normal camera. I knew it was unusual, and I told this couple that we had always wanted one. They told us they never could figure out how to use one. We went inside, and they began to unload grocery sacks, putting several bottles of soda on the counter, and placing cards in front of each one. The cards had ancient sayings written on them. I was trying to help organize them, but the cards kept sliding down, and kept trying to get them to stand against the bottles, but the counter was slippery, and some cards stood while others slid down. While I was working to get them all to stand against the bottles, they handed me the camera, still in its package and said they thought it might be broken, but the package had never been opened, and I stared at the Kodak brand name in bright yellow-orange letters. I unwrapped it from the plastic packaging. Trying to figure out how it worked, I pushed a button and a slide panel came out on the side. It had a picture of a monkey and several other images on it, but the monkey stood out to me. I realized I had to match an image with a subject, but couldn't figure out how to maneuver the monkey to overlay the picture I wanted to get. The camera somehow seemed bigger now, and the couple told me it seemed awkward to operate. Then I somehow realized the camera could make inanimate objects come to life.
That scene faded away, and Hubby and I were in bed, curled in spoon formation, and I was on the outer edge. From a distance, I watched myself sleeping, but then suddenly I was back in my body, but I sensed Hubby was not in his own body, but was hovering across the room watching to see how I would react. I rolled away from this sleeping man who was next to me, realizing he was the man who gave me the camera. Then I woke up feeling like I had seen the camera scene before.
Questions I asked Rosa about the dream:
How she felt immediately upon waking? Tanya, this was the first out of body experience I've had (hovering), so I felt excited about it when I woke up, and mainly just trying to remember everything.
Re: the soda bottles, were they glass or plastic? And were the grocery bags paper of plastic? The soda bottles were those liter plastic bottles with clear liquid, and the grocery bags were brown paper bags. The cards were index cards with Calligraphic writings, but somehow I knew they were ancient sayings. No hurry, and thanks for taking the time.

Rosa,
You already know that symbols usually hold a multitude of meanings, depending on the perspective used, an individual’s personal symbology, and the over-all essence of the individual dream itself. The symbols and definitions I’ve used here are mostly those that I feel are pertinent to this dream, or that you and those you might share this with might find interesting. These and any personal notations that I made for myself while developing the interpretation are at the bottom of this interpretation. I always include them with any interpretation I do.
The essence and foundation of your dream is spiritual in nature. (That probably won’t come as any great surprise to you!) This is shown through many of the symbols in the dream, such as the groceries and kitchen (see notations), the hidden panel in the camera, the ancient sayings on the cards, the fact that the bottles and soda were clear, etc. (I thought the plastic would make a difference in this, as opposed to glass, and that it would have changed meanings somewhat, but since it was clear, in both instances….the plastic bottles and the plastic wrap around the camera, I don’t see that it makes much difference. In the case in this dream, the symbolic meaning can be interchanged with the definition I’ve included for “glass” and “glass receptacle” below, except with a slight intonation of it being more closely related to the physical realm in that it is a man-made. synthetic material and not found in any type of natural formation, as glass can sometimes be found. The less clear the material is, the closer to the physical realm, or third dimensional realm, of conscious understanding it is. That in no way lessens its importance; it only more finely defines the meaning for the dreamer. Hope that makes sense.) The fact that you dreamed of, or had the actual out-of-body experience (or astral travel) tells me that this dream was an important one of an initiatory nature. Initiation type of dreams will come to you as you come upon and complete certain esoteric type of lessens and are about to move on to a higher vibrational understanding and usage of such lessens. They often cannot be defined in words, but are ‘felt’ or ‘known’ deep within you. Very much like you recognizing the ancient sayings on the cards, yet not being able to write down what those sayings actually were. In the dream….and within you….you ‘know’.
The dream speaks in the time frame of current-day and future. Current day is denoted by the use of plastic and soda, the packaging of the camera and even describing the slippery countertop. Future is shown by your description of a camera with unusual features, such as the ability to animate objects. It also is addressing areas of your own spiritual learning, growth, explorations and teaching.
It’s important to note that in your dream almost all the action takes place on someone else’s property, someone never actually seen in the dream. This suggests a few things to me. Often, when a character is not seen in a dream, but is there more allusively, this character represents a spiritual guide. I personally believe that this was the role in the case of your dream. Thus, the fact that the activities occurred in his/her yard and kitchen is further confirming that the activities in the dream reflect the areas of your spiritual interest and growth. The use of the front yard suggests that your activities and interests are open to the public; you are not particularly timid about anyone knowing your interests, and you’re more than willing to jump in and help them out (partly from your own curiosity and partly because of what you already know and are anxious to share). However, it can also suggest that you are not quite ready to bring this active awareness too close to the home-base yet, at least for some of the people around you. This is further suggested in your last phrases of the dream “I rolled away from this sleeping man who was next to me, realizing he was the man who gave me the camera”. This isn’t a good or bad thing, and probably shows much wisdom in the area of discernment.
Your dream also carries a warning about some of the people around you. There is a professed interest in things within the more expanded understandings and usages of metaphysics, but the interest is simply idle talk and the deep interest and knowledge is not there. It’s all show, for attention. (While I’m not an avid reader of the Bible, other than for reference, I know you are. There is a saying in it about throwing your pearls to the swine??) But they “talk a good game” and it’s easy to believe that they are quite well-versed and of like-mind. This warning is being shown through the use of the hidden monkey, the cards continually sliding down from the bottles, even the use of soda (considered a junk food…empty knowledge; remember, those groceries were not yours), the fact that they claimed the camera might be broken when it had never been removed from its packaging. There is an additional warning that your efforts to teach and help (for these types of people around you), spurred on by your own real interests and ability, may be in vain and holds the potential of “making a monkey” out of you (or rather, out of your efforts; through the use of pun). This potential is shown when you “couldn’t figure out how to maneuver the monkey to overlay the picture I wanted to get”; the emphasis on “maneuver” and “I”. It’s a forced action, rather than something that flows naturally in its right element. If these people aren’t authentically interested, but it’s all ‘show’, then the image will never match. Remember, the camera still belongs to “them” and is not yours.
Now, symbols often overlap each other in their meanings within a dream, and that is occurring in your dream here. While you’ve been given the warnings above, with the reminders that these items do not belong to you….and how they represent ‘them’…..the items also are telling you things about yourself and your spiritual development. Those cards with the ancient sayings on them hold significance to you personally, even though you could not remember what the actual saying was. You know that there are many levels to our ‘beingness’, or ‘self’, and that we are interacting on these many levels, even when we are not aware of it. It was you who was standing those cards against the bottles. The ones that stood initially, without sliding down, represent knowledge that you have already attained the understandings of. Those that slid down, yet stood when you tried again, represent areas of spiritual knowledge that you are coming into. Those that could not stay up are areas that are either unimportant in your life’s path or that will be shown at a later time, when you are ready for the knowledge. The camera and its futurized abilities show you that you not only have the ability, ‘focus’, and interest to jump in and learn new things, but that you have the ability to (and do) teach those things you learn and that hold value to you. The Kodak logo’s colors are a golden-yellow and a golden-orange. This, again, suggests that this is all of a spiritual/esoteric nature (see symbols below).
There is a symbol for which I cannot tell who it belongs to. (That’s an awkward sentence), but that is important. It is in regards to the bottles being closed (this is assumed, since you did not mention them being open). This indicates an area of bottling up emotions & true feelings. I suspect you’ll know if this suggests you personally, or those represented by the bottles (since they aren’t your groceries).
Now, getting to the area of the scene with you in bed, initially with your husband --- I’ve already addressed your being out-of-body and what that suggests to me in its meaning. The position you and your husband were in carries significance, in that it most likely represents your attitude toward him (and through him, toward family), and that is one of protectiveness. This is represented by you being the outside part of the spoon. I believe that it additionally is showing you a bit about your attitude toward self, and that is feeling on the “outer edge” of things. Since this dream relates to spiritual knowledge, interests and growth, then it suggests to me that you often feel that you’re on that “outer edge”. You were also shown in this scene that your husband was having his own out-of-body experience and was watching you for your reactions. This suggests to me that you may be unaware of his advancing spirituality, and that he, in real life, is probably much more aware of your interests than you may actually have realized. It might be valuable to reflect on what your actual reaction was in the dream when you realized he was out-of-body, if you can remember. --- Rolling away from the man, once he changed from being your husband to being this other man has been addressed above, but I do want to add the comment that this specific scene suggests to me that you had already begun to realize that the element of people that this person is representing (as was mentioned in regards to the warning) was not what you initially thought and that they were/are representing themselves falsely, and that you have already begun to take action toward moving away from them, or altering your interactions with them. That could explain the feeling of déjà-vu. Then again, you were close to waking at that point and you may have had a roll-over of energy that pre-recognized that discussion you had later with your husband wishing you could share a wonderful view from the top of the mountain.
Well, Rosa, that’s it. I hope you find some of this information useful. It was a fabulous and insightful dream, and I am honored to have been allowed to offer you this interpretation. Sorry you had to wait so long for it.
Tanya

I am totally amazed, and awed!
I know you are right on target here, and felt that in my spirit. And I have already found the lesson in this. When I read what you wrote about "the warning" I immediately knew. Oddly enough, I got into a discussion this morning with two girls who were exactly as you described them here - "well versed and talking a good game" and it's funny you mentioned the Bible because the discussion was about scripture. I had to take down the post because they were getting ugly and setting traps for me to fall into their ugly accusations. I didn't want to verbally assault anyone when I posted the article, but I saw myself heading down their path, so I took the post down to avoid my own faultfinding, and then apologized for it. And wow, I saw they were trying to make a monkey out of me so I took the high road, knowing they had no interest in what I had to say. Wow!
As for Hubby, I have been wondering about his spiritual path. He's very quiet about it. He's been thru so so much turmoil, but I do see some gradual healing taking place. We've had many changes in our life, and I have had many changes in my own spirituality, though we never discuss that. We left the church, and I have grown since then. I know he listens to my conversations with my daughter because we talk on speakerphone all the times about spiritual things, but he never really chimes in. So, what you're saying here is that he's paying more attention than I realize? I sometimes wonder what he thinks about the spiritual things my daughter and I talk about, like dreams and other metaphysical things, because he was never into that sort of stuff.
I don't really remember what I felt when I realized he was out of body in the dream. I just know I became conscious of the body next to me, which wasn't him anymore. Do you think maybe this means he's changing spiritually?
I need to reread this and ponder it some more. But I am truly amazed and awed, and appreciate that you did this for me. I never would have interpreted it this way, but it makes perfect sense to me, and I needed to know this stuff.
I'll be back!
I really don't know about this being a "Projectors" service as a general rule. I've only just begun to learn about this "Human Design" through you. When you get a chance, maybe you can post a link for others who might be interested in learning about this.
A lot of 3rd eye activation here, and something very very important about "monkey mind." Isn't there an APE god in the Egyptian cosmology? I think there is. This all feels Egyptian. There are Ape gods in Hindu and Chinese spiritual traditions as well - Hanuman, and also the Monkey King.
Very important figures in the groupmind.
Tonya, on my own, I never would have thought about the interwoven aspects, but I am really novice at dream interpretation. Rainy turned me on to a book, and I have only read about a quarter of it, but it sounds very spiritual so far. It's by Wilda B Tanner, and it's called the Mystical, Magical, Marvelous World of Dreams. It's taught me quite a lot even in just the little i've read. I had known that some very famous people depended on the dreamtime for their life work, like Einstein for one, but she mentioned many I hadn't known of. Anyway, you did an excellent job on this and I am very grateful.
Toni, I too enjoyed the structuring part, and that will help me in the future also.
To change the subject a bit - is there any significance when I dream and I am not myself? I mean I'm dreaming as people I don't know, it seems. I'm having experiences in the dreams that aren't mine and there are no people familiar to me in them. It' like I'm living as somone else in my dreams but not the same person over and over..... always different.
Sometimes I am me though. :-)
The book Rosa mentioned would be a great one for you. It's easy to understand and addresses this aspect of dreams, among a lot of things. It'll make a great dictionary of symbols for your library as well. It's laid out for easy reference.
I believe there is a small group of us on here that will be activly involved in something important - as a group or team. I feel a certain connection with certain energies here and something tells me we are more than just connected ... *the gifts are chosen to come together to weave* .....
"I'd like to suggest you buy a book to keep easily at hand. It isn't one that you need to read from front to back, but rather it is a most valuable reference book of metaphysical/psychic terms.........conveniently alphabetized for you. The book is The Donning International Encyclopedic Psychic Dictionary by June G. Bletzer, Ph.D. ------- At the back of the book she has given a study course and several other things. I never used them, but you should flip through that area to familiarize yourself of the offerings. She's done a fabulous job with all of it. ---- I think your mom might really enjoy this book, too."
Thank you for your kind words about the interpretation. I had promised to put up a sample of one of my written interpretations for you to view, to see if it brought forth additional perspectives and uses in your own interpretations. Even the very shortest of dreams can be very telling.
Well, I'm off to forward that e-mail back over to you with a copy to your mom.
As an empath, I merge with my clients' systems, with their permission, and I feel their pains and blocks and also healings in my body as if they were my own.
Bobbi, you may be "waking up" as an empath.
I'm very, very careful to NOT get into others' energy without their permission.
I sometimes have a hard time when someone with a powerful mental mechanism "projects" onto me - I've had to learn a lot about shielding.....Grounding and shielding.
I do dream a lot and most of the times I see snakes in my dreams....and the funniest thing is I always see it blurry and soon forgets the whole episode.Previously, when I was in teens, I dreamt a lot about babies and newborn kids. But never went and tried to find out the reasons and interpretations.
And in my pregnancy, I never had any dream.
I do know I'm empathic but don't know how to not "absorb" other's negative energy other than avoiding them.
That must be what you mean by grounding and shielding.
There are quite a few great energy-work teachers out there now. You might be interested in Donna Eden's book ENERGY MEDICINE. Some people really like Barbara Brennan's HANDS OF LIGHT....There are lots of ways to learn about the energy systems of the body.
You can learn to ground yourself, and set an energy shield. You can also learn to fine-tune your sensitivities, and "set your dial" - your receiving capacity - to "High." High-vibrational information, that is.
You and Rainy might be of assistance to each other, comparing notes.
My dreams are always completely unfathomable to me. Someday maybe I'll remember one and send it to you.
I can tell I'm going to enjoy reading your posts, Tanya. Dream interpretation is my primary interest and occupation right now. Lately, I've been spending all day, almost every day interpreting my dreams (I dream a lot, and I've been programming them to receive specific information). I like your approach to interpretation and your ability to discern different levels of significance. I'm sure I can learn a lot from you. Thanks again for getting in touch with me.
