An Autumn Walk

Autumn colors are finally making their appearance here in Newport, where the ocean environment makes our Fall color season a little later and less vibrant than in inland New England. But at least the Maples are changing, and the vines and shrubs. It was evident on today's walk in Ballard Park, around Gooseneck cove, and up my "country lane" loop.

Gorgeous walk along familiar trails I see you took today and yet because it is fall, new, fresh, colorful images appear. Loved the second picture with maple leaves for a carpet.

What beautiful photos. I've been so busy in the fall the last few years that I haven't been able to visit New England during the color season. My time frees up around November 1st and then it's too late. I really enjoyed our photos and am suffering from not being there with my own camera.

Autumn is my fave season and these shots are so inviting....my fave is the f/22 depth shot of the canopy of limbs over the trail.....

so how cold are the Winters and how many months does it last?

That first photo of the ferns just about took my breath away.
Wish I could find the time to publish more of mine. Sooooo many photos and not enough time. Guess that's a good thing - better than lots of time and no photos........ he-he.
Absolutely breathtaking! The first shot of the ferns really caught my eye, because I have many, many ferns on my property and they never turn any interesting colors. They just start to shrivel and turn dark brown in early August.
