I just found out last night that Linens 'N Things are closing their doors for good. Going out of business. Kicking the bucket. Pushing up daisies. It's not happening just in the Houston area, but all over the country. They will no longer exist. They will be but just a vapor in our memory.
It's sad to see them go. I'm crying buckets of tears... Whaaaaaa!!!! Whaaaaaa!!! Can you feel my pain??? Hey...sue me if you want! It's my review!!! I can write how I feel it!!! ROFL
On a more sobering note. I constantly compared Bed Bath & Beyond products to theirs and now I will have nothing to compare them to. They did offer some great deals and I bought a ton of their sheet sets for my bedrooms!
No point in reviewing their products since their products won't exist any more. This is more of a service announcement. They will remain open until everything is sold. As you guessed it... There will be no refunds and they are no longer accepting coupons. So if you held off using your coupons for Christmas shopping, you're out of luck!!! :(
I know Bed Bath & Beyond won't be losing any sleep over this... In fact, they will probably be throwing a party!!! Cause they're gettin' all of Linen's customers!!!
If you were an avid fan of this place, and you want to try to get some of their "final" discounts...mosey on down there before everything is gone. It will be your last chance to give them a shout!!! They won't be hard to find. Just look for the big "GOING OUT OF BUSINESS" sign plastered above their doors!

Helen mentioned Circuit City ... it is interesting that they sent out a web ad a few days before the announcement noting that they would have the same price for web and in-store from now on.
Here's a 10, thanks for posting at Up All Nite Café.
In fact their cash flow is double their debt. You can find the debt ratios here if you care to consult the facts:

BEWARE of marked up items just to be displayed with a percentage discount!
I bought 2 items from Linen & Things and realized that it is pointless to buy from them when they mark up their prices just to offer discounts. I didn't bother checking the discount that was given but I bought an electronic item that was suppose to be 40% off but then when I got home I found out it was only 20% off. I called and the manager told me that the item I bought is a seasonal item so it only qualifies for 20% off when right above the product there is a sign that says all electronics are 40% off.
When I went online, the same item is for sale at Bed Bath & Beyond cheaper then the discounted price I paid.
I say let them go out of business and take a big loss from their scandalous marketing scheme until they learn that consumer should not be tricked. Eventually when closer to January when they actually closed their door, the prices will drop to 60-80% off.
What's worse is that all sales are final. The only warranty you have is with the manufacturer. Whatever discount offerred unless its maybe 80% off it just aint worth it for the hassle for warranty instead of a one day exchange. Let LNT rot.
Have a good weekend!
