Greetings Gatherers!
I am very excited to announce we will be conducting a site upgrade at 11:00 pm ET Tuesday October 21, 2008. The site will be unavailable for approximately 4 hours. Please be sure to complete any sharing activity prior to this time. Check back after 3:00 am ET on Wednesday to log in and start your day on Gather.
The latest enhancements bring some really fun and useful changes to help you better share and organize your photos on the site. Some of specifics you will be able to do are:
•o Upload up to 40 photos at once
•o Create photo albums to organize your photos
•o View albums and slideshows
•o Receive photo and album alerts and notifications
One of my favorite features is that sharing photos with friends not on Gather has become much easier. This is true even for photos that you share privately, with just certain sets of friends. Some of my family members don't like pictures of their kids published openly on the internet. With this new feature, I can share all my family photos and invite other family members in to see them, but not have to make them visible to the world. This kind of privacy control allows me to share more of my life with the folks I know and care about on Gather.
Be on the lookout for a full article outlining the details to be published by MaryAnne Flynn this evening. To better assist you with using the new features, please join the Support team at the Help Desk where they will be on hand to answer your questions Wednesday. We would love to hear your feedback at Building a Better Gather.
As always, we appreciate your patience during this upgrade and we encourage your feedback!
All the best,
Tom

thanks.
indeed Upgrade a mentionable work!
Thank you Tom so for the info in time !!!
That's it. I'm boycotting/threatening to leave/having a tantrum again.
The RSS feeds don't work now. Could these be due to the upgrade?
Two things I'd like to see--both ideas have been suggested many times in the past couple of years--are a comment editor and a way to define collections of groups to make posting articles less cumbersome.

this is great, hopefully there will be better ability to find photos... if you are visiting a person with 100 pictures it is tough to filter through
