I really like to try to be kind. I think many of us just get busy and don't think about going a tiny bit out of our way to help someone else.
When was the last time you opened a door for someone?
When was the last time you helped someone pick up something they dropped?
When was the last time you stopped when you didn't have to in order to let someone pass by you, or even *gasp* have the parking space you were about to pull into?
Did you do something kind and out of the ordinary for someone today?
Honestly, today, I don't think I did. I wasn't out much. However I was at the store and even though the employee didn't provide a departing remark, I made sure to thank him and tell him to have a nice day.

I made sure to stop today for a couple taking pictures on the Michigan Ave bridge and asked if they would like their picture taken. They of course did!
I must do more tomorrow!
The simplest kindness one can offer another is a simple smile. I often make a game out of smiling at people in the supermarket, particularly in the hour right after work. The tension that people carry is very evident in their faces yet few fail to smile back if you make eye contact and smile. You can see the tension fall away.
"A smile costs nothing but gives much. It enriches those who receive without making poorer those who give. It takes but a moment, but the memory of it sometimes lasts forever. None is so rich or mighty that he cannot get along without it and none is so poor that he cannot be made rich by it. Yet a smile cannot be bought, begged, borrowed, or stolen, for it is something that is of no value to anyone until it is given away. Some people are too tired to give you a smile. Give them one of yours, as none needs a smile so much as he who has no more to give." ~Author Unknown
Here's a 10, thanks for posting at Up All Nite Café.
But, thanks for posting to my group: Group with No Theme
She appears to be a quiet and shy child but she smiled so brightly and thanked me.
