PC Versus Mac

You’ve more than likely seen the commercial - I’m a PC.  Well, I’m a Mac and my husband is a PC.  On that front we have a marriage divided. 

Two Christmas’s ago my husband gave me an Apple IPod for Christmas.  Just a few weeks ago there was no sound coming from it, even though everything indicated that it was playing.  Both my husband and I started searching the Internet for a possible fix.  We found that other people had experienced this same problem, some trying to repair it themselves, others calling Apple, in some cases still under warranty and in some cases not. 

I had become quite addicted to my 30 GB IPod.  I called Apple asking for a product specialist and explained the situation and asked if they might make an out of warranty exception.  I also added what a dedicated Mac user I have been.  He put me on hold for a little while.  He returned to the phone and asked what color I would like for my new 120 GB IPod.

I received the new one in the mail and am very happy with it.  There is now hope for my husband’s conversion to a Mac.

I started with Macs in 1992 and have had more than a dozen machines. One of the best things about having a Mac was that I rarely contacted customer service. The few times that I did were unpleasant experiences. It makes me feel even better to hear how Mac resolved your technical problem. Neat.

I've been a Mac hack since the '80s, and I won't own anything else. I've had to use PCs in the workplace and they've never been anything but trouble. LOL!!! I know more about messing around in the cyber-basement of line commands in DOS than I do in OS X's Unix terminal, mainly because of all the calls to tech support at wherever I was working to fix yet another Windoze failure, whereas I've never had to dig into OS X's innards to fix a problem. Not to mention that all my Apple hardware has lasted way longer and more consistently than the PCs I've had to use in the workplace. Experience proves to me that Apple just has a better product, hardware and software.

I started out with a pc. I had two which didn't last very long, one an Acer, the other a Gateway, I think maybe 4 years each. Then I got a mac because it would take up less room, for aesthetic reasons, and because I had always heard they were geared more towards the artist. I got one of those with the balls as a base, about 7 years ago, still going strong. Memory, however became a problem, and recently I got a mac notebook. I love all you can do on it. I think it was a meant to be thing since my husband and I recently joined an organization and they appointed me chair of visual arts. I've used it for web design and a brochure and am starting to work on a newsletter. Plus I love the word program on it. It catches much more than what is on a pc. Then there is the virus thing. What is that?

I have the PC!
Sorry, pretty lady, but I will only use a PC--can't stand the Mac way of doing things. They make decent hardware, but their whole approach to an operating system I feel is sophomoric. I used PCs for many years in my graphics business, and nearly always had trouble when dealing with clients who were stuck in a Mac mindset, usually compatibility issues with graphics or video files, among other things. I've used Macs on enough occasions to know I'd rather use my PC. This is the only Mac 'n Tosh that holds any interrest for me

if you have a chance please stop by the post i just put up. i have a bunch of questions about mac as i am considering switching from pc to mac. you might be just the person i need to help me make the decision
