I found out a couple of weeks ago that my cholesteral (I think i spelled that wrong) is to high. It was 375. I wondered if anyone had any ideas of foods that are good for lowering cholesteral, or at least ones that won't raise my cholesteral. I am trying to change my diet, as the doctor says one of my favorite foods eggs is something that I should not be eating alot of. So, I needed some other ideas.

Ive been told that eggs are not as bad as some say they are.
Although avoiding cholesterol in eggs is a good idea, saturated fats will raise your cholesterol more than anything else. Saturated fats are high in foods like butter, red meats, cheese, and coconut oil. Avoid those as much as possible. Trim as much fat off meat as possible and only eat the very lean hamburger.
I hope you can lower your cholsterol to a safe level. Your heart and blood vessels will thank you.
Also, getting your weight down to the "normal" range is a good idea.
My cholesterol was high...around 240...and just losing twenty pounds brought it down about thirty points. Of course, statins will bring it down more. I am on Simvastatin (same as Lipitor) and my total Cholesterol is now 155.
Also, there are two kinds of Cholesterol...LDL and HDL. LDL is the bad one. HDL is good, but the most important thing is the ratio between the two.
Here is a web site with more info.
There is a ton of information on the Web about this. Just Google LDL.
Oatmeal is a good one.
And no alcohol :)
