I think I would try this soup, but I wouldn't garnish it with the apples. I would save the apples for munching, I don't like cooking with Granny Smith. I like them best just as they are.
The bread sounds awesome though, and it doesn't get much easier than this recipe.

And, I can't let a day go by without congratulating you again. I know that you may have a few periods when you backslide, but you'll get over that. My MIL has smoked all of her life, and she's smoked a lot. I'm worried she won't be able to spend much more time with her grandchildren as she's very sick. I don't want that to happen to you. You're such a wonderful person...we need to keep you on Earth as long as possible. I'm feeling all mushy now....okay, I'll go ahead and say it. We love you Shannon and here's a big hug.
