Everyone loves Chocolate Pudding just like Grandma used to make but the commercial mix just does not do Grandma's justice. The trick to good pudding is to make your own. Yes, homemade pudding is still quite common. Here is a great recipe for a homemade mix. It makes a great gift or make it for your own pantry.
HOMEMADE CHOCOLATE PUDDING MIX
2 1/2 cups instant nonfat dry milk
5 cups sugar
3 cups cornstarch
1 teaspoon salt
2 1/2 cups unsweetened cocoa
Mix all ingredients together until they are well blended. Store in a large airtight
container or in a jar if giving as a gift.
Attach These Instructions to the Jar:
To make Chocolate Pudding:
In addition to pudding mix in this jar, you will need:
Milk
Vanilla extract
Butter
Stir mix before using. Place 2/3 cup of pudding mix in a medium saucepan along with 2 cups of milk, one teaspoon vanilla extract and one tablespoon butter. Cook
over low, heat stirring constantly until mixture comes to a boil. Continue cooking
and stirring for one minute. Remove from heat and allow to cool. May be placed in
individual serving bowls then cooled.
