Can you decipher this dream?
In this dream Hubby and I were with another couple in someone else‘s front yard, and we were watching another person with a camera. It wasn't your normal camera. I knew it was unusual, and I told this couple that we had always wanted one. They told us they never could figure out how to use one. We went inside, and they began to unload grocery sacks, putting several bottles of soda on the counter, and placing cards in front of each one. The cards had ancient sayings written on them. I was trying to help organize them, but the cards kept sliding down, and kept trying to get them to stand against the bottles, but the counter was slippery, and some cards stood while others slid down. While I was working to get them all to stand against the bottles, they handed me the camera, still in its package and said they thought it might be broken, but the package had never been opened, and I stared at the Kodak brand name in bright yellow-orange letters. I unwrapped it from the plastic packaging. Trying to figure out how it worked, I pushed a button and a slide panel came out on the side. It had a picture of a monkey and several other images on it, but the monkey stood out to me. I realized I had to match an image with a subject, but couldn't figure out how to maneuver the monkey to overlay the picture I wanted to get. The camera somehow seemed bigger now, and the couple told me it seemed awkward to operate. Then I somehow realized the camera could make inanimate objects come to life. That scene faded away, and Hubby and I were in bed, curled in spoon formation, and I was on the outer edge. From a distance, I watched myself sleeping, but then suddenly I was back in my body, but I sensed Hubby was not in his own body, but was hovering across the room watching to see how I would react. I rolled away from this sleeping man who was next to me, realizing he was the man who gave me the camera. Then I woke up feeling like I had seen the camera scene before.

Sarah, most dreams are odd, LOL.
Most common dream I have is searching for a restroom, only to find it locked, dirty, or no privacy at all. As a child/teen I use to dream I was in my front yard looking at the nieghbors barbwire fence and power pole and a gaint thumbprint would come towards me.
Lately the only dreams I am remembering are ones that leave me feeling very out of sorts the whole day. Usually something bad.
Rainy, I think you are right about both the camera and the monkey. Somehow I think this is about my writing (cards with ancient writing). Last night I dreamt about a typwritter, LOL. It was a very short dream, and I went to turn on the TV, not by remote, by dial, and in front of the TV theres was a typewritter on a bench, and that's all I remember.
Kitty, sorry you so hectic, I was looking forward to your interpretation.
Your husband is obviously involved in whatever needs organized. Perhaps he wants you to help him with some?
Just that you would love a camera, and only your neighbors have one.
Te he!
LOL Angela, I have a camera, but it doesn't bring inanimate objects to life.
Whoa, I just had a revelation, capturing the essence of anything is like bringing it to life.
Oh and by the way, i went out to my dads tonight - way out in the country and guess what i kept seeing? Obama signs, lol - even your country people are in more favor of him. Anyways just thought youd like to know, love ya - *RDD*
Rural Missouri, a swing state. Glad you are seeing the banners out in the boonies. Hope MO does the right thing.
Well ihope your day was good, mine not to bad - i miss you guys, tell pa fishin' i love him, Love ya too - *RDD*
Pa is at work right now, but I will tell him when he gets home. We love you very much and miss you. Looking forward to Thursday's call.
I'm a total amateur, so don't believe a word of it.
"In this dream Hubby and I were with another couple in someone else‘s front yard, and we were watching another person with a camera. It wasn't your normal camera. I knew it was unusual, and I told this couple that we had always wanted one. They told us they never could figure out how to use one."
The starter seems to be that you are with similar spirits (safety, comfort) in a relaxed setting that doesn't belong to any of you (safety and comfort in a semi familiar environment); all watching someone work an unusual visual recording device (a mnemonic inference?).
An unusual visual recording device, that you want, and other people can't do. I'm feeling the mnemonic thing strongly again; like this could be about having photographic memory.
"We went inside, and they began to unload grocery sacks, putting several bottles of soda on the counter, and placing cards in front of each one. The cards had ancient sayings written on them."
A change of scenery and then work begins; setting out bottles of fizzy water (dynamic life) with special cards (archetypal labels) for each one.
"I was trying to help organize them, but the cards kept sliding down, and kept trying to get them to stand against the bottles, but the counter was slippery, and some cards stood while others slid down."
Re-enforces the idea that specific cards go with specific bottles (categorizing, discerning). Problems not related to matching the bottles and cards, but are arising from below. The counter (base) allows some labels to stand while others fall (foundational problems).
Would be interesting to know which ones stood and which ones would not. The color of the counter might add some insight.
"While I was working to get them all to stand against the bottles, they handed me the camera, still in its package and said they thought it might be broken, but the package had never been opened, and I stared at the Kodak brand name in bright yellow-orange letters."
Attention is re-directed from one task to another (change) by the influence of others (outside guidance). The new task comes with confusion (they say it's broken, but it looks new, unused and untried). If this is supposed to be the same camera that someone was trying to work when all of you were outside, then it has been presented to you as something brand new (a new tool for you to use).
The fact that it is Kodak can say many things. One of the most well known Kodak slogans has been about capturing moments; as you included in your title. Again I feel the mnemonic or photographic memory inference.
"I unwrapped it from the plastic packaging. Trying to figure out how it worked, I pushed a button and a slide panel came out on the side. It had a picture of a monkey and several other images on it, but the monkey stood out to me."
It was brand new to you, and you figured out how to make it do something (sort of work it). As for the monkey picture, others have already said that monkey can signify trickster. It can also signify curiousness, playfulness and(or) our lesser intelligent natures.
"I realized I had to match an image with a subject, but couldn't figure out how to maneuver the monkey to overlay the picture I wanted to get."
Again you are matching things to other things, like you were doing with the cards and bottles, and again you are having problems getting the results you are striving for because something basic is not cooperating or been figured out.
"The camera somehow seemed bigger now, and the couple told me it seemed awkward to operate."
The experience becomes more troublesome and unwieldy.
"Then I somehow realized the camera could make inanimate objects come to life."
Some completely new and incredibly powerful aspect of the tool is revealed. Viewing something with this new special device can bring things to life (aka; give you a fuller and deeper understanding of the dynamic existence and capability of things).
"That scene faded away, and Hubby and I were in bed, curled in spoon formation, and I was on the outer edge. From a distance, I watched myself sleeping, but then suddenly I was back in my body, but I sensed Hubby was not in his own body, but was hovering across the room watching to see how I would react."
Astral projection, viewing things from an unusual perspective. Being on the outer edge is the place of the seeker, adventurer; spooning is a position of connected intimacy. Hubby represents a companion who loves you; and they are watching over like a guardian spirit; both in the beginning and at the end of this dream sequence.
"I rolled away from this sleeping man who was next to me, realizing he was the man who gave me the camera."
Your spirit guide helping you find and wield a new power (fuller sight)?
"Then I woke up feeling like I had seen the camera scene before."
Re-enforces the dream. Could be a dream that you've had before but never clearly remembered. Could be analogous to a scene you have lived through, read about or seen on a screen. Alternate life echo?
There ya go; an analysis from someone who knows only a mole hill of beans about the meanings of dreams.
Thanks for letting me play.
I hope you don't mind this outrageously long comment.
Peace -
I see Bill's left some info, too. Gotta jump up there and see what he's shared.
What I chipped in there was about the EYE / Camera -
More coming through:
A new sight / perception mechanism or structure being added to your aura, Rosa. You may feel slight pressure in your temple area: the amygdala on either side is being more highly activated now.
For some reason, eating lots of spaghetti with tomato sauce is advised here. Or maybe you've been doing that -
More seriously, DANCING (as I said on the other site) is very much advised. Whirling is excellent.
"Seeing is believing" I'm being told.....
also
"Seeing is healing."
Whoah -
a shot of empowerment came through on that one. For you, Rosa.
I'm coming back to read all of these interesting comments, and to comment on this too.
Your Friend,

Jurpe's comments
"Most recent weird dream I had and I still remember after a week, was I was on a boat in the ocean and a man was in the water talking to a huge sperm whale with a baby. Next thing I am under water breathing without aid I see a storm surge coming and the mom and baby whale fight the tide but oddly they exploded and came back together smaller each time. I woke up feeling so weird. I can't discern the meaning." ~ Jurpe
Jurpe ~ Your DREAM actually happened, and was reported on CNN a couple of weeks ago.
"Most common dream I have is searching for a restroom, only to find it locked, dirty, or no privacy at all." ~ Jurpe
Jurpe ~ Your dream about searching for a restroom, only to find it locked, dirty, or no privacy at all ~ is a DREAM pointing out "privacy issues" or the lack thereof. It is also indicative of your wanting a cleaner environment. And, also, there are feelings of BASIC NEEDS not been met -- "finding the restroom locked" ~ is associated with your feelings of not being able to do those things necessary and needful in relation to every~day life.
The part about your neighbors . . . " As a child/teen I use to dream I was in my front yard looking at the neighbors barbwire fence and power pole and a giant thumbprint would come towards me." ~ Jurpe
This was a PROPHETIC DREAM of the future . . . It indicates how WE live NOW. Locked up with security systems and the like. As well as "the POWERS that be having THUMBPRINTS of everyone". By your DREAM taking place with you FOCUSED on your NEIGHBORS . . . it indicates SOCIETY ~ COMMUNITY. Because it took place in your FRONT YARD, it means that it would happen and be right up-close and personal -- UP FRONT -- so to speak. {Affecting you in a way that you would have to take a look at it ~ you'd be unable to avoid it.}
We'd love to HEAR further DREAMS and THOUGHTS from you Jurpe.
A Strange Kodak Moment ~ Rosa
DREAM INTERPRETATION ~ The company Kodak will come out with a NEW INVENTION. Of course, we can discern that it will be some sort of camera product. We also know from your DREAM that it will be very unusual . . . in fact, it will be complicated in some ways, because the couple in your DREAM told you that . . . "They told us they never could figure out how to use one."
Back to the TOP -- the beginning of what you said about your DREAM . . .
"In this dream Hubby and I were with another couple in someone else‘s front yard, and we were watching another person with a camera. It wasn't your normal camera." ~ Rosa
I've put part in BOLD ~ but this whole line is very significant. It indicates VIDEO VOYEURISM being at issue. Let's take a look at the definition of "voyeurism" . . .
Voyeurism can take several forms, but its principle characteristic is that the voyeur does not normally relate directly with the subject of his or her interest, who is often unaware of being observed. The voyeur may observe the subject from a distance, or use stealth to observe the subject with the use of two-way mirrors, camera, videos etc.
This one line of your DREAM involves at least six (6) people ~ You and your hubby (2) ~ another couple [add 2 more] = (4) ~ in someone else's front yard (at least 1 other person) = (5) ~ watching another person = (6).
All of these people (knowingly, or unknowingly) connected to one another centering around a CAMERA.
The person you were watching was not aware that you were watching them -- at least your DREAM did not indicate that they were aware of your presence. The other thing is that four (4) of you were watching this person through the camera -- you and hubby, and the other couple. How is this possible? Were you taking turns looking through the lense? Or, was one person holding the camera while the other three people looked on?
Rosa ~ I'm going to another box to finish INTERPRETING, because this is going to be LONG . . .
" . . . they began to unload grocery sacks, putting several bottles of soda on the counter, and placing cards in front of each one. The cards had ancient sayings written on them. I was trying to help organize them, but the cards kept sliding down, and kept trying to get them to stand against the bottles, but the counter was slippery, and some cards stood while others slid down. While I was working to get them all to stand against the bottles . . ." ~ Rosa
First thing that comes to mind is . . . MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE . . . next, tarot cards ~ because tarot cards have ancient sayings on them ~ or "I Ching" cards.
The second thing is that Coca~Cola came to my mind, even though you did not mention what type of soda it was in your DREAM.
In total, the ancient sayings not STANDING on the counter against the bottles because the counter was "slippery" is a MESSAGE that says to you, "Don't place your FAITH in things that will not STAND".
It also points out that "bottles" will be used to make a stand. This could indicate "unrest" in communities or societies where bottles are being thrown. Maybe by youth . . . And "ancient sayings" will not be able to stand against them. They will not HEAR - - no matter how hard you try to work to bring forth the wisdom of the Ancients. ~ [As you were working hard in the DREAM to try to get the cards with the Ancient Sayings on them to stand up against the bottles]. . . .
Moving on to the next box . . .
" . . . some cards stood while others slid down." ~ Rosa
Some Religions will STAND, while others will not. We're talking ORGANIZED RELIGION here, because you said about your DREAM . . . "I was trying to help organize them, but the cards kept sliding down,"
Then you go on with . . . " . . . kept trying to get them to stand against the bottles, but the counter was slippery, and some cards stood while others slid down. . . .
INTERPRETATION: "Slippery situation" ~ We know that everyone cannot handle a "slippery situation" -- some people fall down -- some things fall down -- Some RELIGIONS will fall down. It has to be the right card -- Meaning -- the RIGHT SAYING -- VOICE -- which is ANCIENT -- which is WISDOM. Only WISDOM will STAND.
On to the next box . . .
"I know that the camera represents a tool to capture or record an essense or memory, or could mean you need to get a clear picture of an idea or goal in mind - the monkey represents fooling around or not taking a situation very seriously ...." ~ Rainy Dayz
A monkey ~ Also comes to us in our DREAMS sometimes to WARN us of something. It could indicate a person or a situation . . .
Rainy is right about the monkey in that the monkey often represents a "fool" ~ "joker" or "annoying" or "irritating" person. They usually represent something that is "foolishness". If you choose to get entangled with a monkey, you can expect to be thrown off track.
I'll be back later this evening.
