Know Matter What I did .That the Court’s Asked Me to do It still wasn’t good enough. My book Is About all the struggles & Heartache I went threw for 6 Years and the Out come Of It all.
Barb is a reasonably intelligent mom of four grown kids who works full time as a secretary and runs a ferret shelter out of her home. Watch as she makes one dubious decision after the other and laughs through the consequences. "The ability to laugh at one's mistakes is priceless," she claims. "I make so many mistakes, I spend a lot of time laughing." You'll spend a lot of time laughing, too, as she tells the story of her life: her kids, ferrets, husband and most of all, her sense of humor.
What a great idea to start with the jacket!
Just to clarify what I meant by a "book jacket description" - basically I want to hear what you book's synopsis would be....what would you write to intrigue the potential reader about your book. You don't need to describe what the actual book jacket would look like, just the description that appears on the inside flap or on the back! Thanks!
Stefanie
Working in a limited palette lends the work a feeling of stability and calm despite the sometimes turbulent imagery. The lucid quality of these images created by artist C.C. Miranda allows the observers mind to manipulate the faces, so that they undulate to the rhythm manifested by their own subconscious, creating a constantly evolving series of imagery, redolent more of a dance, than a flat visual statement.
Although Magi is an Australian living in the most isolated capital city on earth, this wide-ranging collection of Dreams in the Mist transcends both space and time ... the poems drift in early morning light and in enchanted twilight falling, speaking from heart to heart. Enjoying the sheer magic of Magi is an experience not to be missed.

Harold Reynolds makes a decent living as a technical writer, and dreams of becoming a novelist. But, a drawer full of rejection notices keeps him chained him to his dull job and uninteresting life. That is, until his big break. An earthquake leaves him buried under the rubble of the Wilson & Farber building. For three days rescue workers dig up debris and bodies while Harold writes like he never wrote before. He emerges from the disaster with a broken leg, dehydration and a masterpiece.
Fame and fortune follows, but fades when his second novel hits the shelves. The critics dismiss him as a one hit wonder and his book ends up in the $1 bin at the grocery store.
Crushed by failure, Harold goes back to writing computer manuals. He keeps a notebook, but he can't stand to look at the blank pages. When all seems lost, he gets hit with an idea while stuck in traffic at the scene of a fatal accident. The resulting book puts him back on the best seller list, but more importantly gives him the secret to his muse - he needs the presence of death to inspire him. But how to find enough death for a fruitful career? That's easy – become a serial killer.
My book is a detailed look at how I have learned to save 50% of my grocery budget by becoming an "extreme" coupon shopper and how you can do it too! I give step by step examples of what can be done to get the maximum value out of your money. I have also included some receipts and savings spreadsheets to show that I really DO save the amount I say I do. It's something that anyone can do if they are willing to spend a little extra time each week.
Considering today's economy, if you could cut your grocery budget in half, wouldn't you do so?
My book is ready for publishing!
When he is asked by Howie the chief of police to help solve a most grizzly murder, the first in 25 years, it will take all of Edwards detective skills to unravel a crime that was 30 years in the making.
The outcome will shake this small town values to the core.
Can a land truly be cursed? That is the question many in Mesilena have been asking themselves for years. The answer is not as simple as they would like to believe.
Nestled deep within the swamplands of Olerax, the people of Mesilena attempt to recover from a plague that robbed them of much of their army, many of their citizens and even their queen and king.
Mechia Cyn is a young woman forced to rule Mesilena before she is ready and without the guidance of her parents. She is not alone though - Rylee has been Mechia’s irresponsible best friend since childhood, Dravien seeks to join the Onyx Knights of Mesilena, Genni is a kind-hearted priestess and the mischievous Lasler all stand by Mechia.
The barbarians of Klevnone have gathered at the eastern edge of Mesilena’s swamps, unrest has infected the people and nobility of Mesilena just as deeply as the plague had and Mesilena’s darkest secret – the vampire Deus – are just some of the challenges Mechia and her friends will face.
In a series of how-to articles, essays, and recommendations of outside resources, author Patricia G. shares lessons from her own journey out of poverty. The Gods created the world in their own images, yet because they did not work together the result was a dark and flawed creation. They chose to begin anew, turning their collective backs on their failed attempt and new life was created through cooperation. Volain was what this world was called, and its inhabitants knew nothing of the world that came before it.
The gods watched their original creation from afar through a mirror that could be used to bind the worlds together. They were met with nothing but disappointment as their first creations proved volatile and unworthy of their creators’ attention. The gods eventually agreed to destroy the artifact and forever sever the potential link between the two worlds. Now however, several of the shards have been recovered and are being gathered together from across Volain.
An unlikely group of people have been thrown together into an adventure to prevent the mirror from ever being reassembled: Glith is a gambler by trade, Gillian is a cutpurse who travels the land, Saracht was once a knight and now trains the less fortunate, Isabella is a gladiator of great renown and Devinoste is a young mage. They have almost nothing in common but share a goal to destroy the artifact once and for all.
Poetry for anf of children of all ages
Celebrate a collection which shares the author’s transformation from a photographer to a writer. This book blends the award winning writer and photographer Trish Ayers’ two creative loves. It’s a rare opportunity to glimpse photographs taken and printed before her breathing disability which made it necessary to leave the darkroom and find her way to the keyboard. The work explores the impact of child abuse, dealing with a life altering disability, raising children, menopause, and discovering her Native American voice which was “taught out of her” during schooling.
A must-have coffee table and reference book for aficionados of Luther Burbank’s “chosen spot of all the earth”, Sonoma County, California.
This stunning collection of insightful narration and fondly-rendered images by writer, photographer and lifelong resident Jean C. Fisher depicting Sonoma County’s long-established rapport with the natural world reveals a rich and varied panorama of the region’s incredible diversity of plants, wildflowers, birds and other wildlife (as well as its legacy of horticulture and agriculture) as they splash across the pages of this delightful and informative book.
Through the filter of Jean’s profound affection for and intimacy with the land and its history, we seem to experience something of Sonoma County’s “soul” -- so much so that, afterwards, we come away feeling just a bit homesick for its “…gentle, rolling, tawny-brown hills like cougars napping in the sun…” and “…commanding oaks draped flamboyantly in frothy, sea-green, Spanish lace…”
But what if there was more to it than simple parlor tricks? What if the illusion was real? What if the party magic and stage illusions were not just entertainment, but weapons in a battle between good and evil that’s fought in plain sight?
Jeremy and Michael Kellar used to fight that battle as members of the Fraternity of Light, a secret society pledged to protect humanity in a unique fashion. Twin brothers with a natural talent for mentalism above all other forms of magic, they can do more than vanish coins: they can read your mind and influence your thoughts. The catch?
When they do it, the magic is very real.
Retired from the fight, now they live a quiet life together, sharing an apartment in Los Angeles and working honest jobs to earn their keep. They’re well liked in the neighborhood, have plenty of friends, and have relinquished their power in favor of normal human lives.
When an old friend tracks them down, however, the battle will call them back into action. People are dying at an alarming rate, true magicians living on the fringes of the battlefield. The Fraternity needs them to help stop these deaths, and to find a lost treasure of the order that may be right under their noses…
to showcase some of my better photos and maybe a short story behind some of the photos would mean the world to me.
Each of us has dreams that we inherit. The work of life is discovering our own. Author Julie Lindahl reflects on 9 unexpected years spent raising her young family on a small isolated island in the North and the dream she found there. Through her story of breaking with a corporate career and a cosmopolitan life, an inherited dream, and pursuing an existence in the often harsh Nordic wilderness, Lindahl captures the very essence of the greatest personal challenge that each of us meets: to discover that there is no blueprint for how to live your life, that all you can really inherit are tools, and that the great work of life is to chisel your own dream out of the ice.
For anyone who has ever felt trapped in a life they don’t feel they should be in, Lindahl opens the door.

Pastor Osteen has an army of fans and followers. Surprisingly, to me at least, I found that there is another legion of citizens who cannot stand the friendly young man and view him as a heretic or worse. Researching these disparate views led me to write Joel Osteen, Christian Knight or Christian Lite.
Since the age of thirteen~I've allowed myself to be abused. Finally at age 43 ~ I realize that the best piece is piece of mind. Philosphically speaking ~ I know my words are only words ~ however, what I do with them is what makes me special.
Do your words feel special? They should ~ they are pieces of you. Hold them dear, and hold them, dear. ~j
If you're unfamiliar, Snippets are little snips of extremely detailed, descriptive and precise poetry covering any topic, completely in 30 words or less.
I would love to use Gathers own Rene Allen's snippet shears icon on the cover and perhaps an introduction to Snippets written by her......if she would honor me by doing so.
Anyway.......These little "life bites" have become a huge part of my creativity!
I haven't discussed any of this with Rene yet soooo shhhhhhh this is a secret! lol
Unless you like the idea, that is!
Thanks for the opportunity.
Getting settled into a new town is something that Laura is used to. She can even deal with some of the weird things that happen in her new hometown. What comes as a surprise is when her father's mysterious work catches up to her, and she realizes that she is The Assassin's Daughter.
The tragedy of my book was that it didn’t have any words.
Just another story telling you that something had happened.
Every picture, had no picture.
No illusion that couldn’t be destroyed , only delusions set forth to conquer the world.
Encountering your dreams each day.
Filling them on the crisp pages of a journal.
Letting it all write its self.
Mysteriously it begins.
A silver streak on a black page inside of a book.
Several brown specks of blood.
Tiny drops of the bluest tears that feel endless in their falling.
And a loud hate filled scream echoing through the tale.
It can not stop, until something grabs hold and pulls it back above the water, letting it breathe again.
Coming of age in th post War years through trials and tribulations through my own marriage and family including disruptive military service, broken education and eventually a great and rewarding job career that resulted in mid-life crisis and even greater dissatisfaction with a deceitful world, depression and therapy resulting in a re-Awakening to a Spiritual reality and the vastly deep esoteric learning resulting from that which gifted me the wisdom to completely transform the entire world ...
Followed eventually by years of blogging about it and the realization that though some cared, most could not accept the concept because it was so simple, they thought that much pain was needed to have gain and they did not believe yet in the K.I.S.S. involving True Love ...
But never mind ... I just heard about this a few moments ago and it is already too late ... I guess that I will have to use another publisher ... your loss :-)
You too?
No announcement yet, eh ...
I have noticed that a lot of
other Gather promos that were
to end the last week have been
extended ...
Gather! are you extending the submission date on this promo???
“¿Where the heck are You?” is the greeting I usualltyy receive from friends and family since they are never quite sure just where I am or where I have been. “Where the heck are You?" is a collection of stories from my journeys, not your typical travel column. Come with me for a journey to foreign shores, tropical locales, and places you may not have even heard of. Along the way I will introduce you to people and their cultures, art and cuisine, the mysteries and majesties of their far away lands, and together we will share an adventure.
Happy Election Day!
