Obama and McCain at the Alfred E. Smith Charity Dinner~~Very Funny!

This was so funny!  It was nice to see Obama and McCain "roast" each other.  They both had some funny comments.  Obama reveals his "October Surprise"!  He also poked fun at the "Who is Barack Obama" comments being asked by the McCain campaign by announcing he was put here to save planet Earth.

McCain got some cracks in that Hillary Clinton would be voting for him and not Obama.  He also joked about ACORN registering Mickey Mouse and kids.

I laughed throughout the whole thing.  Enjoy Gatherers!

Very nice tension reducer..........................we are reminded not to go to the extreme in taking sides in the kids fights. When the election is over they will have to play nice (up to a point) while we carry the baggage of leftover hurts.

Love seeing them like this – gives you reason to believe that we are really better than our politics.

And the jokes was actually good:

Amongst Obama good lines:

“Recently, McCain’s campaign advisor told the daily news ‘if they talk about the economy, they will lose’ – I am going to be talking about the economy.”

But McCain had the best line:

“Maverick I can do, but Messiah is above my pay grade.”

But Obama was more presidential – whatever that means

was really funny, cause you get the sense that he has, on more than one occasion, said to himself, ‘what the hell were they thinking’.

In my 29 years this was the first time i have ever looked at both candidates and said these two men are both good people and may the best man win.. when John McCain said that line about the Messiah being above his pay grade i couldn't stop laughing that was hillarious.. and Obama said that McCain told him stories about his days with E.Smiths great grand father, even he had to laugh at that. It was really refreshing and couldnt have come at a better time.

We watched this last night, and Bill and I were both howling with laughter. It was really refreshing to see the candidates poke a little fun at each other, not to mention themselves.

I watched it live and I think McCain won the night. Both were good, but McCain had more zingers. I wish he had done this in the debates, He would be kicking tail in the polls right now.

Poliwonk, I agree that McCain was much funnier but than he has more experience at these things. I believe this was Obama's first. Still watching it, like you I just kept thinking I wish McCain had done more of this during the campaign.
