 Welcome. Join us on a journey through the looking glass. Imagine, a bright young politician competing against the wizened older pol making his last attempt at taking seat in the highest office of the land. The scene, a darkened bedroom with two bodies in restful repose following a late night spicy dinner.

    The televisions glowed and flickered in the darkened room. Tuned to different news channels, the man sat quietly listening as reports began to filter in. Across the miles another man sits in similar manner listening to the same reports bringing news of the election's progression.

    "Welcome ladies and gentlemen to election night 08! We are thrilled to bring you results from this most historic election ever in this young nation's history."

    Similar opening broadcast lines trilled from the many speakers arrayed before each man.

   "In what must have come as a complete surprise to many experts, a political neophyte has staged what can only be described as a modern miracle. While all eyes and ears awaited the result all the polls indicated of a landmark decision, who could have ever imagined such lopsided results."

    Both men shook themselves to be more alert as the first polling stations begin to close across the eastern states. Thoughts wishing the talking heads would get on with it are tossed at the televisions.

  "These results just in," expressed the calm voice of Wolf Blitzer.

  "A stunning change from where we thought we'd be just short weeks before. The leading candidate in Election 08, with .1% of the vote counter CNN/Gallup/Michigan is projecting a winner for the President of the United States. Garnering 100% of the vote, the surprise write in candidate has sealed the office. Ladies and gentlemen, our new President, Abe Vigoda."

  "Fuhhh! Wuh wuh! Ahhh! What the..." sputtered the young Senator shocked from his deep sleep.

  "This just in from CNN."
