No checks,no balances,no middle ground. We will have 3 left winger ultra liberal people running the country. All well noted for not reaching across party lines.Party first, country second.
I was pleased when the dems took control of congress.I had hopes that things would finally get done.Look what the last two years has wrought. It was bad before they took the majority,it is worse now.Barney Frank, another uncompromising liberal has a lot of responsibility for the fannie/freddie mess.
Because Obama has no experience,Pelosi and Reed are I am sure overjoyed that they will be in charge of the show.I think in part that was why they didnt want Clinton, they could NOT have led her around by the nose. She is willing to reach across the aisle,a hideous thought to those two and Obama who according to fact check voted party line 97% of the time.
The only ones who will benefit the next four years(if Obama wins) would be the poor.Tax and spend and spread the wealth always hurts the working middle class people. They have to struggle and pay for their own families and get hit for higher taxes to pay for the lower class. Whatever Obama has you believing, there is no way he will not have to raise taxes to pay for all the giveaways and pet projects and to pay for the huge debt our country has just taken on.
If nothing else has made you take a harder look at Obama, think about what will happen with the three amigos running this country.I am afraid that by 2012 we as a country will be wringing our hands and crying my god what have we done.

Taxes are going up and Obama himself has admitted that redistributing wealth is a goal of his. we'll just have to see the depth of damage. Even if he wants to limit economic damage, he will be facing a lot of powerful groups wanting pay back...they aren't going to tolerate much delay either.
Have a great day...
As their first year moves toward a close, it has become clear that the members of this majority have failed to live up to their promises. In just 10 months, Congress has passed legislation that would increase federal spending by a combined $454 billion over 10 years and raise taxes and fees by $98 billion over 10 years and has passed a budget resolution that would bring the tax increase to a projected $2.7 trillion
While the budget resolution does not specify which taxes would be raised to collect the additional $721 billion, the revenue target is not arbitrary. The budget explicitly calls for extending a few of the 2001 and 2003 tax cuts: marriage penalty relief, the child tax credit expansion, the 10 percent income tax bracket, and a scaled-down version of estate tax relief. The additional $721 billion in revenues matches the CBO estimate of 2008-2012 tax revenues if all of the other 2001 and 2003 tax cuts, plus all other temporary tax cuts, are allowed to expire and the alternative minimum tax (AMT) is not fixed
Real liberal or real conservatives as presidents are pretty rare as the people themselves are centrists and want those near the center. Bush is the first conservative and we can see how great that has been! So perhaps it is time to give liberal a try.
You need to be reminded that the Republicans have blocked every bit of good corrective legislation that the Democrats have offered. The Democrats gave it a trial. I would agree that they haven't used to force common to the Republican effort in 1993 but hopefully will get their manhood back from the blind trust in which it has been placed, when Obama is elected!
Let's see, do you remember which party was in the presidents office when we last had a balanced budget? Let me think, it was .....
Six years of neocon has put us into another depression that's a pretty big order for the democrats to beat.
We need to keep in focus that the real purpose of taxes is to fund the government budget. To that end, when there is sufficient receipts to fund the government each year, pay something reasonable on our long term indebtedness, and still have money left over, it would be time to consider a tax cut!
Tax cuts, when these conditions are not met, constitute a form of pander for votes and I don't care which candidate is doing the pandering! However, if there are going to be irresponsible tax cuts, the direction which Obama is going to direct them is far better for the overall US taxpayer than is more of the McCain/Bush tax relief to buy more platinum parachutes, tax cut plan!
Just the money we are currently spending on interest to service the National Debt is a massive annual expenditure. Much could be done with that money were it not already so apportioned. The tax cut plans simply push the obligation of paying this debt off on our grandchildren and great grandchildren! This is unethical, immoral and unconscionable to say the least. The tax and spend Democrats look pretty good now compared to the borrow and spend Republicans!
The interest on over ten trillion dollars of national debt constitutes one of the largest items in our budget! This is not a fact for which we should take great pride, by any means. Fiscal sanity must be restored to our government if it is to survive!
You are correct that it was Bill Clinton, with a Republican congress. Bill had already established his ability to work with that congress and I'll not demean them from receiving a share of the credit for this success. However, when it went to a Republican president with a Republican congress the entire thing went to hell in a hand basket, establishing the need for that Democratic president for even the Republican congress to be successful in this kind of endeavor!
The Bush policies is what got us here to begin with.
We are in for a bad storm, not only the bad economy he inherits, he will hear the whining from the right as if he started this Bush mess.
I give it a month before Limpaugh and his minnions start blaming Obama and praising the Bush economy.
Mark my words!!!!
"President Clinton announced Wednesday that the federal budget surplus for fiscal year 2000 amounted to at least $230 billion, making it the largest in U.S. history and topping last year's record surplus of $122.7 billion...
...the president explained, the $5.7 trillion national debt has been reduced by $360 billion in the last three years -- $223 billion this year alone.
This represents, Clinton said, "the largest one-year debt reduction in the history of the United States."
"Like our Olympic athletes in Sydney, the American people are breaking all kinds of records these days. This is the first year we've balanced the budget without using the Medicare trust fund since Medicare was created in 1965. I think we should follow Al Gore's advice and lock those trust funds away for the future," he said...
"The key to fiscal discipline is maintaining these results year after year. We need to put our priorities in order," Clinton said. "

"The Treasury Department has to borrow money to meet Congress's appropriations. The total borrowed is more than $9,000,000,000,000 and growing"
By the time Bush is finally tossed out on his ass, we will be $10 trillion in debt. Nearly all of this debt was brought to us by the disastrously failed economics brought to us by the neocons since 1981. When Redink Ronnie took office, the nation was about $1 trillion in debt, the result of both the costly Vietnam war and Johnson's "Great Society" programs.
Rather than focus on paying that down, however, the neocon's idea was to massively swell it, by both cutting taxes and dramatically increasing spending. The point all along as been to put the nation so far into debt that SS, medicare, education, and all other domestic social spending would simply have to be eliminated. They've succeeded so far in destroying government and our national treasury. Mission almost accomplished.
It's like they're in their own fantasy world where everything is Clinton's fault.
The reason Obama is winning is because we can't afford another 4 more years of Repuke policies.
Obama is going to steal from the people to give it to the evil government. Obama is acting like what he is a POLITICIAN!!-Senator Government.
You people are truly clueless. No wonder you keep voting against the best interests of yourselves and your country.
Obama and mac are the clueless one's,neither of these men has any idea what to do. In order to get out of a hole stop digging-the government-politicians just keep digging and spending. It has to stop now.
You're on a roll with this one! Just carry one, please! The world needs a little levity.
For you to be wrong about the facts is understandable. For you to be insulting is childish and unworthy of an intelligent adult! Get your facts straight.
If you want to have intelligent discourse, tell me which part of my comment you failed to understand and I'll try to explain. Or, if something is wrong, name it and perhaps you are correct, but we'll discuss it. Reasonable discourse or insults, the choice is yours but if you are choosing insults then I'll not go there.
We just don't care,we don't get it,Linda.
Jimmy Carter was really a great president-20% intrest rate-18% inflation-17%jobless-gas lines-hostages.
You see Linda,Jimmy was a liberal who cared, the fact that he was a complete liberal --- disaster matter's not why?????-he cared.
Billy Clinton a complete lying degenarate liberal also cared a populist man of the people like Johnny Edwards,he also cared.
Now we have the next populist man of the people who also "Cares" Barack, the next liberal saviour,Barack also "Cares".Well their they go again,Linda, the new Spread the Wealth socialist liberal man of the, "liberal" people is the answer for America.
LBJ-Carter-Clinton- Pelosi-Reid-Obama!!!-AND, NOV.4th.
In todays news FINALLY - Mr. Greenspan ( who up to this point was described as having done such a good job - he walked on water) came out with:
The longtime Fed chief acknowledged under questioning that he had made a “mistake” in believing that banks in operating in their self-interest would be sufficient to protect their shareholders and the equity in their institutions. Greenspan called it “a flaw in the model that I perceived is the critical functioning structure that defines how the world works.”
Now if you read his biography, you will probably agree - he should have stayed in the music business....
There is nothing wrong with sharing the wealth - this country has always done that - thats what our society has been built on...and I would suggest that everyone who is on Medicare and caring a Social Security card at this time turn their benefits in - so there will be more to go around for those who appreciate the assistance and support - maybe then we will not have to raise taxes to clean up this past administrations mess...
When you think about it...you may need someone who can make us laugh - like the Three Stooges leading this country through the mess thats coming...and manage the pain that is coming!
Mr. McCain is already looking stressed and strained...just a matter of time before his short fuse is gonna blow....I just have a feeling...
~Franklin D. Roosevelt~
I was a Republican for 30 years until this election, and would have voted for John McCain back in 2000. But somehow he gave up when he lost the nomination, and decided, "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em," attaching himself (quite literally in some cases) to George Bush.
That he is using the same firm used by Bush that defeated him with robocalls is very ironic and very sad.
