This one is for my friend Nalita who know much more about this than I do. But it was on TV last night. So here is the questions for tonight.
Do you believe in the Bible Code?
Did you know that in this code it predicts a huge earthquake in Los Angelos in 2010 and a global impact by an asteroid/comet in 2012? What are your thoughts on this?
Vague definition of the Bible Code.
A Bible code (also Torah code) is the notion that there are information patterns encrypted or coded form in the text of the Bible, or, more specifically, in the Torah, the first five books of the Hebrew Bible.
The existence of such codes has been hypothesized by students of Kabbalah since the Middle Ages.

Absolutely not.......
You didn't tell me that you were posting this.
I'm trying to sign OFF Gather, Carol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Suffice to say that the Bible Code is something that Newton was very,
very, very, very, very interested in,
and it was his preoccupation with it, along with other things, that caused so many to pursue it . . .
Cutting to the chase . . .
The equidistance sequencing that I have found in the Hebrew Torah Codes/Bible Codes
have determined that
Obama is the next U.S. President, and the Hillary never stood a chance.
(from January, 2008)
I'm rushing, rushing!!!
To answer your question, though -- why do it?
It's an irrefutable proof of Jehovah God's signature on the Torah, that's why.
I would suggest that rather than being closed mind, you read the book.
It's obvious to me that -- probably few to no one on this thread -- has read the book, and if Newton found this so intriguing I would not be one to dismiss it so quickly!
Later!!!!!!!!!!!
The reason our brilliant Newton could not crack this code, being -- in my opinion -- the most brilliant scientific mind that has thus far existed, was because he failed to have one necessary element
computers<~~~~~
Else, Dude would have cracked the code in no time, of that I have no doubt.
Now, I can say,
Later!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
She was also into Ouija boards
". . .and a global impact by an asteroid/comet in 2012? "
The Mayan calendar ends on 2012. I'd be more likely to believe the Maya over the Bible. Why? The culture is older and far more interesting. But I'm just partial to that area of the world from my anthropology classes. :0)
It's like asking people to work through Algebraic equations, when they haven't a clue what the formula is,
or like doing a logic problem when they been told that it equals "C"
but they have no idea what "A" and "B" are.
Like this:
___ + ____ = C . Therefore what and what is it that equals C, and what is "C"?
Read the book! There is your starting point, sort of.
People like Newton, students of the Bible, and the Kabbala have been studying for years.
Youse people jump in here, and voila! You say,
"I don't believe it!"
Why don't you believe it?
"Because I heard this." or "I saw this on T.V."
Come on now. Take some time to be serious about the subject matter, and if you aren't that well read on it, say
"Hell, I don't know. I don't know enough to know."
or
something like that.
Oftentimes the beginning of knowledge, and of wisdom is realizing
how much you DON'T KNOW, and NEED TO LEARN.
Yeah, I know. That is unnerving, but that is also the beginning of wisdom, knowledge, understanding, and the journey to truth.
As I said earlier (and I smile about Phyllis comment), because she makes it seem as though Isaac Newon was NOT a scientist, Newton's preoccupation with searching the scriptures for ancient secrets, and lost wisdom was no joke.
Newton was very much a scientist, and a mathematician.
As all of you know already know, he is still considered the Father of Modern Science.
Phyllis, you are so cute. You are giving me my final laugh of the night; thank you.
I fancy Newton a psychic with a leeetle crystal ball, and with it he discovered how gravity worked, the relationship of light and colour/opticks -- yep! He just looked into that leeetle crystal ball. That's also how he came upon fluxions/calculus -- all of it. Naw, he was not a scientist, based on your comment. I think I love you, Phyllis. I'm hyperventilating. I see him now walking into class -- Professor Newton to lecture, with that leeetle crystal ball. No wonder his lectures were so sparse. It wasn't that he spoke over his students' heads. It was that darned crystal ball that scared them all off.
Oooooooooooh Phyllis. Don't you know that this process IS mathematical
By the way Lee, you're correct. It has been determined that the Bible has many layers -- is multidimensional, and they are frustrated that -- even with the equation, and with computers -- they cannot even begin to do much more that get at the tip of the iceberg.
I love it! I love it!
Phyllis, please return tomorrow. I want to hear more!
But, what we need is someone who is good with Physics, knows Hebrew, because you DO need the original text -- nothing else will work, and so forth. People have access to programs/software for the Hebrew text, but I'm not sure about the Physics, and the process and pulling the whole procedure together to get the results you desire.
There is one more thing; should I phone you about it Carol. I thought you didn't want to talk about this, you little sneak! :=)
Good night all!
:=)
It's easy reading -- like "Dick and Jane" Hold on. Let me find the book . . .
ISBN 0-684-81079-4
"Michael Drosnin is a reporter, formerly at the Washington Post, and the Wall Street Journal. He is the author of the NYT bestseller, "Citizen Hughes". He lives and works in NYC."
I got that information from the dustjacket of my book, and my book is old. Who knows what Drosnin has been up to since I bought my book. Let me see the date on this book . . .wow, 1997.
So, I must have purchased it in, or after 1997. I probably got it in 1997, since I recall getting it shortly after it was released. I haven't kept up with Drosnin since then.
If I'm able to get at least 2 or 3 of these people to agree to merely read the book, then we can have a decent conversation, yes?
Heck! Agree to read the book, and I'll re-read it, too.
Its very easy to use hindsight and then say, "LOOK! The bible said this!!!!" The bible also says its ok for believers to rape women who don't believe and kill children of non-believers, among other things.
Just as people misunderstand the concept of slavery in the Bible -- hah! Slavery in this country, and the concept of "slavery" in the Bible are in no way alike.
If you have a credit card debt, and you cannot pay it off, you must work it off with manual labor, until it is worked off -- a Bible slave. People take that Bible and twist it all of the time. Now, where is this "rape" charge??? lol.
As for the other: I have returned to see if I have 2 other readers or not! lol.
Finally, Ms. Lloyd: since when have you started calling me, "Nalita". lol
Oh, I forgot, Carol. I shan't be around much tomorrow, and may be on the road quite a bit for Obama. I hope not, for I hate hotels -- YUCK! However, anything, for the cause. I shall be in touch, Girlfriend!
