It is with utter disgust that the US is going on the selling block within the next 30 days by the liberally educated brats and the demented liberal citizens who are selling out this magnificent country that many heroes fought for and gave their lives for this as a free democratic society with the trust passed on to the new citizens of the US to maintain for their ancestors as well as ours.
Today however, we find that the new breed generation Y and boomer generation citizens have turned the trust over to the socialists. This happened with the help of our liberal media in full support of the liberal cause. The consummation of the liberal plan to poorly educate the minions of young people and to brainwash them with liberal propaganda excelled under the national educational association with the unionized teachers, themselves a product of the same brainwashing, and the nation is struggling to maintain its economic standing in the world as a result.
The idiocy has progressed to the point that the newer citizens in the US are gullible enough to believe that a soothsayer with wild predictions of global warming will cause nature to alter the earth and jeopardize all inhabitants and end the existence of mankind. There are many who are taken in by these myths and they accept the truth of global warming and in fact, have been brainwashed repeatedly to believe that they themselves are the greedy hordes responsible for this event. This is another liberal absurdity.
The cause of world demise is presented as our use of oil and other natural resources even though any good scientist realizes that the natural causes are way out of proportion when compared to any harm that man may do to the earth. Big business is also criticized as an additional cause of global warming. Anything that exposes the liberal cause for the foolishness that it is, is targeted as the cause of global warming and as evil.
At the time of this election we have the results of the liberal controlled US Congress' politics to socially engineer the country by providing a home for every citizen regardless of their ability to qualify for the home ownership following the mortgage and even to qualify for a responsible indebtedness demanded by the mortgage. The liberal controlled congress managed to set up Fannie May and Freddie Mac to handle the indebtedness and to further pass on the indebtedness to other banks and mortgage companies. Despite numerous attempts by the Republicans to enforce better collateral and qualification for the loans the liberals in control gave the stamp of approval to all who would seek profit from a broken system. After all, most of the contributors to this socially engineered idea are the source of funding through taxes. And now, the liberals are trying to pass on the blame to the republicans.
Caveat Emptor! When this country is to be sold out in this manner it will meet it's demise in a short time span. As the country becomes weaker under the new socialist government our many enemies are poised and will attack the US. This will not have a good outcome. Even if the US survives it will take many years to reach the comfort levels the citizens of the US have been accustomed to in our daily lives and pursuits.
The summary of this sale is that even though the sales pitch is put together by the fools, the sale is final. We have sold the ranch and thus, we are destined to wander a troubled world of our enemies.

Unless you like the current situation and the situation we are in now, you cannot support McCain.
Don't know how to tell you this but if anyone is selling out America, it is the entrenched money wielding crowd who practically reek of "republican," not the so called liberals. First, I need to remind you that socialism has been with us since the founding of this country and is bot legitimate and good in many instances. It is very American!
Perhaps I'm one of those newcomers of which you speak, I've only been here seventy years! But this is a dynamic civilization with elements of socialism, capitalism interwoven in the manner the leaders felt at the time would be the most advantageous to this nation. Our founders intended that the people of this nation would make up and control the government and that anything desired by the populace was reasonable if done in a proper and legal manner.
Unbridled capitalism has pushed this country to the brink of disaster as evidenced by this most recent crisis. Capitalism is good and must be maintained if we are to have innovation and development but it does need some form of control and management that it cannot provide itself!
Bear in mind that the Republican conservatives had a president in the White House and total control of congress for six full years. So how could the "liberals" be setting things up for failure during those years?
Without the capitalist system in the US many of those who really should be living happily in Argentina, Russia, Iran, Palestine, North Korea or Syberia would be scratching the earth to meagerly obtain a meal of root or worms. This capitalist system has afforded the world many humanitarian benefits and for those who excell and aren't failures it is a great system. Drill now or crawl!

Apparently you haven't gotten the memo - we can't drill ourselves our of the oil situation, we don't have enough oil to do so.

Well, if you ever find your way back to reality, give me a call.

Understand your feelings but with only three percent of the world's petroleum and twenty five percent of the consumption, we cannot drill our way out of this! Memo be darned. I've spoken out in favor of the drilling for some time but with the recognition that we must have a comprehensive energy approach that emphasizes renewable energy sources and others not linked to fossil fuel.
We need the oil available off shore and in the ANWR to lessen the oil we purchase from the Mideast. Not to increase our own oil consumption. In fact, our oil consumption must take a turn the other way and result in less demand. It will in time if only because, as supplies dwindle, prices will become exorbitant!
I believe drilling is important for our security, both domestic and foreign, and we need to utilize our own resources as much as is possible instead of purchasing Mideast oil. But I am not so dumb as to think that this is going to lower my cost for gasoline one whit, nor is it going to be a permanent fix. It will not grow more oil than is currently there!
Therefore, it is even more imperative that we explore, research, develop and deploy other forms of energy to fill our needs in coming years. Transportation may well prove to be the easiest of all to switch over, with potential for fuel cells, hydrogen and other technologies. And, the hybrid is probably going to be the car of the future for many years. We will continue to depend on petroleum for many more years and so we need to cut the actual rate of consumption of that precious commodity!
One thing to consider is that some of the oil resources too expensive to utilize may be viable as prices rise. Perhaps the oil companies could then drill on some of the thousands of leases that are laying inactive now.
I also believe that you will find a president Obama to be a very pragmatic leader and will accept and pursue those things that work! He will want, as they all do, to leave a legacy and would not want it to be only that he was the first black president. So he is going to be knocking himself out to do better than that. You needn't like the man at all but if he succeeds in turning our economy around and bringing our spending into line with revenues, he will have accomplished what has not been done in the past eight years!
Regardless of who wins the election, they are going to need the support of all Americans to meet the challenges presented this nation at the present time!

Sorry, but I think you have over inflated hopes for our tiny bit of oil and its market impact. Common sense tells you that it can only effect things in a ratio approximate to its market share. We are scarcely in a position to develop a competitive market by our contribution. Sounds goo and I hope you are right but I am the worlds greatest skeptic! Or realist.
Again, I support the drilling but know damned well that I am not going to see significantly reduced prices because of it. Were there not other very good reasons to drill, I'd oppose it on the price of gasoline alone.
Your telling about what Obama can do or not is simply a red herring in this discussion. I don't give a damn if Obama or McCain inherits the White House, the facts are the same.
Just common sense, Lou!

And isn't there something about excessive taxes. If the market is not solvent let it drown, that's business. I mean I always thought that stocks and bonds were a gamble. If I thought a company couldn't fail I would have sold every thing and put it into AIG. Who would have guessed it....... Just my humble thoughts
Sad to say i think America as we know it is not long for the future.
Stand your ground, you may not be popular, but at least you know what side of the fence you are on.
