I know that there are many families who are concerned for their children's welfare as the economy just keeps looking worse. There are many who have already lost their jobs and more to lose them everyday. It is hard for everyone to make ends meat these days. However, there is help with many of the everyday things like food.
If you needed help or a neighbor needed help, would you know how to get it? Each state has Food Banks. These Food Banks are the warehouse buildings that store the food for the Food Pantries, Emergency sources, Soup Kitchen, shelters, Day cares, Senior Centers, Rehabilitation Centers, Youth Programs and Schools. They store the Government Foods as well as donated and Second Harvest foods.
This link will help you find your Food Bank. Keep in mind that the Food Bank does not serve the families but they do serve the programs listed above and can help you find your local Food Pantry. It has the listing for every state in the United States.
You may want to bookmark this site in case you would need it later.

Each Food Bank receives its allotment at different times of the month. So you could check to see if there is more than one in your area as well as find out when they received the food. The best time to go is a day or so after they receive it.
Thanks for adding that information
I am glad things are ok at the present for you and your family.
Jill,
I know and it is only going to get worse.
USA.gov is also a useful tool in finding the various governmental programs and services out there.
