Can you believe it's been a year already?
Yes it's been a whole year since the premier of the VOAT group, isn't that great? We're hoping you had fun with the challenges, they've been many and unique for certain and will only get better as we continue. Sometimes it's fun to take a step back and see where it all began, right? Rumor has it that Bobbi; the group creator, first conceived the idea on a dark and stormy night in a log cabin in the frontier lands of the far away and mythical land of Michigan. Her photos of this place certainly makes me want to believe in the Loch Ness Monster, the Bermuda Triangle and Family Dollar Stores along with other bizarre things. Her perserverence has converted a lot of folks into believing that the place really exists - but I digress. Admitedly we've had some laughs along the way.
The first photo challenges a year ago were submitted by Gayle (G-Photog- Photographer,Artisan Jeweler,Wearable Art (eclecticgayle) and included a pumpkin:

and a cemetery:
There were a lot of great entries and it began to show us all that different programs and different techniques can change a point of view on even the simplest objects.Bobbi and I must think a lot alike because I asked her about resurecting the pumpkin challenge and she told me she had been considering the very same thing. Knowing how busy she gets, I offered to post the picture and she said ok...
Here's the challenge: Get out your digital carving knives, sharpen your keyboard skills and start cutting! What do YOU see in this pumpkin? A skull? An alien landscape? How about a black cat, a warlock or even a haunted house? Bobbi suggested a full moon scene and the possibilites with that are endless...

The rules:
Caption to the picture to include - VOAT, Photo Fun - Variations on a Theme Pumpkin Challenge.
When you post the variation to the group, tell us a little bit about how you got the results you achieved. What program did you use? Paint Shop Pro? Photoshop? Paint(dot)Net, or whatever. There are a lot of great programs out there. What steps did you take? Did you use filters or post edit in a different program? It's not rocket science, it's only that others may find your technique worth copying and a little help goes a long way
