I can't go outside without coffee going through my veins to drug me against the cruel world (ha ha) so I never have it "out". But obviously a lot of people stop at Starbucks or McDonalds to get their coffee??? How do you tank up? Do you spend too much money on coffee? Minneapolis has a local coffee bean roaster that cremates my beans just marvelously, and I can get it in huge bags, so it's very cheap. If you make your own coffee at home where do you buy it ???
I think if a coffee is very good then it shouldn't have anything else in it - so you can worship the COFFEE.
Do you add stuff?

Tiny bit of cream and sugar in the mornings. At 5 everyday we have espresso, with mocha.
I take mine black - I used to put sugar in it but my dentist told me to stop a few years ago. That's one of the reasons I get very particular about the quality of the coffee - when you don't add anything to it, the way the coffee itself tastes makes a lot of difference.
If I get coffee out, I prefer McDonald's coffee over Starbucks. I am not a half-caf caramel chocolate cream macchiato cappucino with whipped cream and chocolate shavings sort of girl.
I like d&d and starbucks sometimes.
I didn't make any this morning but now I think I want to go brew a small pot!
Have you tried vinegar-cleaning your coffeepot? If there is buildup of any kind of scale or calcium from your water, you can get rid of that by running a full coffeepot-ful of plain white vinegar through it, then rinsing with about 3 more pots of clean filtered or bottled water.
I do that about every 4 months and it really helps, and I also use a Brita filter on the faucet I run the water from.
My second favorite is Starbucks and that I buy in bean form also. It just tastes fresher when the beans are fresh ground in my book.
If I am out, I will either go with a Chai Latte from Starbucks or a Hazelnut Latte from McDonalds. Since they are both drive through and just a couple of minutes from my home it is most convenient that way.
I like flavored creamers dry or wet and most of the time will go with Hazelnut when drinking an unflavored coffee. No sweetners.
I currently have a new one so I don't understand why it has a weird taste. Hmmmm..
I suspect it may be the tap water, even when put through the brita. Or, maybe I just like to get my coffee on the go so I can toot around with it all morning.
I'm laughing !!!
(Canned coffee gets bitter because it's old... coffee starts losing its flavor the minute it's ground, so by the time the can gets to the store it's already half gone or better, and half of what remains goes out of the can the second you open it..)
Despite what it seems like it would cost, you really /are/ better off buying whole beans and grinding them when you need them, because you use and waste less in the long run.
We make it here at home - many varieties. Folgers, Maxwell House, Dunkin Donuts, Starbucks, Organic, Reg., Decaf, Flavored. If we go out, I always get a cafe mocha. I have to admit, I like McDonalds coffee. If it's fresh, it's pretty good, with a bit of creamer. Tim Horton's too.
But, then again, I go in spurts. I drink one cup every morning for a while, then stop, and maybe have tea instead for a while. Caffeine does weird things to me... meaning, it calms me down in doses, and relaxes me. Too much and I need a nap!
If I do drink some, it's decaf with creamer and tons of sugar. I love my coffee sweet, baby!
