I love to work in the yard. I love the way the yard looks after spending a day out there. I also love to be outside, so it's no fun for me to sit on my deck at night, knowing that the yard needs work.
So today the kids are off from school, I round them up to help. My 16 year old only lightens his mood when I tell him he can work the electric hedge clippers. Should I worry about him?
We attacked the corner of the yard. The space I was not able to tend to for a year because there was a boat there. There are 3 Forcythia bushes there and an apple tree, all being strangled by a vine. So we all start by attacking this vine, cutting it and pulling it free. After about 3 hours of this, I realize that the middle forcythia is NOT IN FACT a forcythia, but the vine that is taking over my yard.
Five hours later, we can see day light, the kids are cranky, and I'm on a natural high!
