This spider was in my PANTS when I put them on! I was not bitten but I would really like to know what it is. I am so totally FREAKED out! Ack! I've tried to google it but come up dry.
Seriously, I did freak out. A lot. I felt something tickle my leg and I bent down to scratch it and I felt this LUMP! I got it out fast and lost the pants. lol! I'm surprised it wasn't smashed completely because I hit it hard. I'm still all shakey and gross feeling!
i can't tell by your pictures of the actual size but if it is on the fairly smaller size (close to a dime size), then it looks like a common garden spider. these are absolutely harmless although they still look menacing! if 100% not a recluse from what i can tell . . . it has no fiddle on it's back!
Sorry I don't know what this one is. I actually like photographing spiders and webs, but must admit, if it had been in my pants, I'd have totally freaked out. After living in AZ for 10 years, I instinctively check my clothes and shoes before putting them on.
My youngest daughter was the only one in our family to be bitten by spiders, yet she would not squash one. She would pick it up and release it outside.
Years ago I was bitten by a Brown Recluse and had all kinds of problems. Since then I shake my clothes out hard before I put them on. This isn't a recluse but I don't want any spider in my clothes.
Euuuuwwwww!!! Definitely not a brown recluse (Loxoceles reclusa) ~ I had an apartment that was Recluse Central...If I had a spider like THAT in my pants I would have done more than rip them off at supersonic speed!! >8)
Yucky! I think that I would have smashed that thing to smithereens had it been on me with nothing left of it to photograph. Ewww! I would have run like heck out of my house like a crazed loon too after I pulled off those pants...
Been rooting around on the Web (*snicker*) and I'm wondering if your new boyfriend (look at the pedipalps on THAT guy!) is one of the trapdoor spiders? His cephalothorax looks like a trapdoor's...

Time to buy a case of spider bombs and vacate the house for the day. And make sure to shake out all your clothing before you put it on! My husband thinks I'm silly when I say stuff like this, but I've shaken throw blankets, robes and clothing and seen spiders fly off/out. Blech! I'm glad you weren't bitten!
Ugh! They're not so harmless when they are giving someone a panic attack! lol Thank goodness you weren't bitten... but still... I shudder, just thinking about it!
I have no problems with spiders and don't think I've ever been scared by one. Maybe it's the magnification, but that one is scary looking. I think I'd have freaked.

not sure what it is..maybe add some pictures with it next to a ruler so we can size the thing.
Most of them are totally harmless.
They're not aggressive, but will bite if provoked.
You can compare spiders on this website to see which one resembles the one you found.
