I would like to ask Lera, what would she do if the mom who stayed home and worked odd jobs for years, ends up with no social security.
There is a misconception here about social programs. Some people think if you work at minimum wage and save a little you can retire at 60, with what?
People who had little money they may have lost it by now.
There are some member of society that for lack of education or abilities never rise above the poverty level, and we need to pay a little more but those are the ones that do necessary work. Labor force....
In civilized country the old and the young most vulnerable human beings, are taken care of by pensions, by the government.
We have the money but choose to spend it for unnecessary things, steal it, or donate it to other countries.
What is the answer to this problem , americans refuse to help their own people but do not mind helping the world.... with our tax money.
