It there really such a thing as a black Arab? It is not a mix I have ever encountered. Anyway one racist thing I saw was a man at one of the rallies with a toy monkey dressed up like Obama. The newscaster didn't seem to get the racial implications, but if you watch some of the movies that are about slavery or segregation and such, you will see some of the bigots refer to black people as porch monkeys. I am usually pretty laid back about such things, but this one bothered me. It was at the same rally as the woman who was telling McCain she didn't trust Obama because he was an Arab.

Racism rears it's ugly head.

Racism and bigotry are alive and well in the good ole US of A. My brother, a redneck living in rural Missouri, still uses the n-word.

But it is more disturbing that McCain/Palin are seeking to incite and spread this hatred and racism.

If anyone of color gets harmed because of this hateful, 'terrorist'-type tactic of inciting the basest of human emotions, McCain and Palin should be arrested, charged and convicted of conspiracy to murder. Juan, at this point, those sound bytes are coming back to haunt the McCain camp, and the backlash is driving more people to Obama. His lead continues to increase. I'm almost afraid what McCain's camp will dream up next, in their desperation to get elected.

The people who see and hear this kind of stuff and aren't horrified by it weren't going to vote for Obama any way.

The simple fact is folks, millions of voters, simply cannot trust Obama because of his associations with radical, extremists and his support of them. He chose the neighborhood of friends he lives with Ayers, Farakan and many more. That simply scares millions of voters to vote for McCain. There are pros and cons on both side of the fence, and somewhere lies the truth, the voteres will figure that out and vote for McCain/Palin.

McCain has admitted that the rallies went too far. He had to. I think that when he told the woman that Obama was not an Arab (like that means anything) he did the right thing. He is returning to the issues of economics. I'm sorry that there isn't more said about Iraq and health care. Those issues are important as well. Bigotry is quite alive in this country but we can't give it too much power. As the years go on, bigotry is losing ground, thankfully.

Sounds like the whining Democrats are expecting defeat already because of hateful, ignorant, racist, intolerant, redneck Republicans. Republicans are just so stupid. Lee, I have always tried to be fair and to see both sides of any issue. But being human, I will never be perfect. As for the arab incident, I do not believe McCain planned it, but it is one of the many results, I personally believe the McCain camp, if not McCain , was hoping for. I also feel that McCain's less than forceful denial of the claim of Obama being an Arab, lacked any real integrity.

On the other hand, after listening to Jeremiah Wright most people would likely agree that he has tried to incite hate and make race an issue in this election to get people to vote for Obama. Barack made a good political move by trying to distance himself from this radical black liberation "theologian." This man was Barack's pastor, his mentor.
