~Henry David Thorea~
I think that I will never see
A poem as lovely as a tree,
An autumn tree, alive with color
Swaying gently with the breeze.

Indian yellow, Red ocher
Burnt Sienna and raw umber
Trees painted in earth's colors,
Burgundy, ruby and scarlet red.

Trees dancin' in the afternoon shadows
Breathing as one with you and with me.

Will edit right now and post to Home Comfort.
my group where it will be featured.
Thank you.
The vibrancy of those shots just thrills me.
I did post it to Home Comfort. Thanks for the feature.
I just got back from a week in northern Michigan. I have never seen better autumn color. It fed my soul.
You walked these trails with me in summertime and I thought often of you the other afternoon when I walked them in solitude with Tuck. The reflections in the water made me think how much I love being connected with all the fine people on Gather. Gift of the heart from me to you and wishing you and your love ones joy, happiness and security.
I knew out in the field I had something...it was late afternoon...that glowing time...but I didn't realize how "glowing" till I got home and uploaded the images. Truly, I was in awe. Couldn't believe I took the photos...but there they were staring at me.
Strange as it may seem, I was out of sorts that afternoon and took the walk to have some solitude and time to think about things. Just maybe somebody else was walking along side me and painted that canvas to bring me joy.
Scarlet for you!
I know I told you I wasn't going to post this till later this week....but when I got home from school I worked on it some more and then I just got so impatient to show these images, I clicked on "publish". Actually I clicked on submit, but you know I don't like that word.
I know your favorite is the last....Tuck, of course. I couldn't keep him out of the essay. Actually I shot quite a few pictures with him in them but somehow this one was just so beautiful, I decided to use only one.
Featured in the Triple Name Club.
Thank you for posting this to Hit Me With Your Best Shots
In the low lying areas near the bogs, reservoirs and the pond we have peak colors...on higher ground it will be another week before colors like this.
Though we weren't able to hook up this past week-end, I did manage to get out and hike.
JUST BEAUTIFUL!!
We are so lucky to be able to witness natures beauty in all her glory.
reminds me that i have to ask my mother to post a shot of her porcelain berries - they are the most amazing range of indigo to bright teal this year...
ps. hi tuck!
Autumn blessings to you and yours...
nice little twist on Joyce Kilmer's poem " Trees"..:)
But of course!
I'll try working on that final stanza a bit more. Thanks for the critique.
I think every school child in America has had to learn Joyce Kilmer's poem at some time or another in their lifetime.
Blessings and best wishes - S.
Tuck looks royal , standing in the golden shadows!
Sometimes one has to wander about
In solitude among beauty in order
To find the beauty within.
That's Tuck, jessie, the "glowing" hour just caught his golden coat just right.
Thanks, Stephanie.
What a joy to see, I love all the seasnons and I miss them living in Florida.
Golden beauty:)
In eyes of all beholders
Bobby's vision heals

And wouldn't it be ever so appropriate as a unique form at my new poetry site?
Hey Layla!
Comes a request, I can hardly bear.
Barbary: As I mentioned when I joined your poetry group, I am not really a poet. But I feel honored by your request and have just posted "Scarlet on Canvas" there. Thank you.
Thanks for posting this to Best Original Photos, Art and Writing for 2008
