I read an article comparing this year's election to that of the race between Hoover and Roosevelt. The article was addressing the economic times of that day and the similarities in the platforms of Hoover and Roosevelt to McCain and Obama.
The main thing that got me to thinking is that after that time, we got stuck with Welfare and we are still paying for that! What concerns me is if Obama is elected, what government programs are we going to be stuck paying for? I don't think McCain or Obama have the answer to the economic issues this country faces but I can tell you that the absolute worst thing for our country is for us to lean more toward a socialstic government!
Our country was set up to be a free-enterprise, capitalistic society that expects its people to take care of themselves and the government not the other way around! These idiots who want to make our country more socialistic and bring in more big government are taking away our freedoms one by one. They want to tell us how to live, what to believe and how to think and I have no intention of giving in to that mindset!
I will fight for my freedom of speech, freedom of religion and every other freedom the Constitution guarantees me and if that means that we have another revolutionary war in this country to stand up for the morals this country was founded on, so be it! I'm fed up with the liberals telling me what to do and how I'm supposed to live and what I'm supposed to think!
I'm tired of the group in Congress gradually giving our country away to illegals and to other countries because they've put a stranglehold on businesses. Small businesses are the backbone of this country and many of them are failing because of all of the regulations and expectations that have been put on them. Unions that were initially created to protect the working class have become no better than legalized extortionists and terrorists. They aren't trying to protect anyone. They are only interested in staying in a position of power and making demands that are driving companies out of business. And, guess what, when the companies go out of business, all the jobs go with them! The whole premise is stupid!
I live in L.A. and have been hearing of rumors of the actors' union going on strike. How dumb can anyone be to strike in the middle of a depression? There are lots of talented people out there who would be happy to take these idiots jobs if they are going to be foolish enough to strike in this timing. People are being laid off by the thousands and these people are just entertainers. What they do isn't crucial to this world especially when people are tightening their belts to buy food and keep a roof over their heads.
I'm sure I'll probably get a lot of flack over this but people had better start thinking about the realities of our country's economic situation and stop living on credit and living beyond their means. And, they'd better start making decisions regarding the elections that are based more on substance and less on pipe dreams.
