In July, a much publicized rift in the McCain campaign over social security and how to fund it for the future, resulted in McCain's campaign experts stating that McCain doesn't speak for the McCain campaign.

Increasingly despondent re: polls, in which Obama is leading and gaining momentum, the McCain campaign recently has become desparate, sending Sarah Palin out to rallies to "give red meat to the base". So she has all but accused Obama of being a terrorist, claiming that he is "palling around with terrorists."

This campaign tactic has lead to (probably) unanticipated psychotic rage on the part of McCain supporters, which has shown up in McCain rallies as increasingly blatant threats against Obama.

Finally, though, McCain might have had enough.

And when openly questioned by supporters about Obama being an Arab or someone, whose presidency was to be feared, McCain confronted the hatred that has been incited in his campaign.

Obama expressed his appreciation for McCain's comments.

So McCain might have decided that he can finally speak for the McCain campaign. We'll see.
Now - back to the issues....

McCain does seem to have sold his soul sometime around or before the RNC Convention...
He has not been in control of his campaign...
There does seem to fighting and struggling among the Republicans...
They seem to be taking a tack of doing ANYTHING, whatever it takes to get elected...
It's disturbing, its sad... It's embarrassing... It's pathetic...
They seem willing to take the whole country down with them...
It's disgusting...
They seem to feel Entitled to do Anything to win...
Like their own (self righteous) ends self-justifies their dangerous/disturbing means...
McCain is unstable, He is Unhinged ...
McCain - Palin would be a disaster for this Nation...
We've had enough Republican Disasters!!!
Obama 08
Maybe he shall take back the tiller as he likes to say. But I doubt it.
Because of the derisive remarks in this campaign, one of the challenges of the next administration will be to address the "America is one nation" concept for all peoples...and it must do that if this country is to heal following the campaign and move forward.
I have thought for some time that McCain didn't "pick" Palin, but was told that she would be his running mate - or the base would stay home. The immediate and dramatic marketing push, touting Palin as the "hockey mom", seemed all too familiar. Anyone remember the "W is a winner" slogan from 2000 campaign?
My point in writing this article is that it is refreshing to see a bit of the old John McCain. I had alot of respect for him in 2000 (even though I disagreed with him on most things), and I have been sorely disappointed that he would use the same campaign tactics that were used against him by w.'s campaign. I hope he leaves this with some of his prior integrity recovered.
