As soon as my daughter was born, she was called "mini me". Not only does she look like me, she is left-handed (so am I) and has a passion for writing and art. Although I've been considered a talented writer since the first grade, my enthusiasm for art is far greater than my talent.
Fortunately, my seven year old daughter was gifted with talent for both. Just like her mom, she won the award for the most outstanding writer in her school in the first grade last year. Her artwork was featured at two art shows during the year, including a fabulous self-portrait that completely amazed me. She sits for hours at her little easel painting, drawing and creating masterpieces to hang on our walls and give to family and friends.
Recently, my daughter started to experiment with other mediums. Sometimes her artistic talent seem to "burst" out of every seam and she simply can't contain it. Recently, I ordered a small wallet from Vera Bradley, which arrived in a very artistic box. My daughter decided to recreate the box as a gift for me, which really brought tears to my eyes. It's a beautiful creation so I had to share a pic of it.
My daughter is also proud her mom is a writer. I told her this morning she could be a writer and an artist and a teacher - maybe even write children's books and illustrate them or become a designer herself. Seems I will be living vicariously through all my daughter's talents in the future :)

I'm also left handed(although my mom is not) and I got all of the artistic ability that my mom did not. She mostly works with oils and acrylics, and then sculpture. I took a totally different direction and focus on photography. I've tried both acrylics and sculpture several times, and I think I actually did better work in kindergarten. I am by no means a writer, so it's great that she got both talents from you!
