Friday morning I woke up to find out that my car had been broken into. It happened between 3 AM and 7 AM, because I was working late and didn't get home until 3 AM. The front passenger side door window was shattered, broken glass was all over the passenger seat, and I had some electronics stolen from my car.
My auto insurance covered none of this because the cost to replace the window was below my comprehensive deductible, and I can't really substantiate the cost of the lost items.
Later the day, my teammates at work treated me to a birthday lunch. It was wonderful, by the way. But on the way back to the office, the to-go box with my leftovers broke. My food fell out from the big hole on the bottom of the box. Luckily nothing got on my clothes.
My husband helped me arranged a window replacement guy to come and fix my car window, but the guy didn't show up and he was not answering his cell phone. We finally got a phone call from him in the evening, and he said his truck got into a car accident on the highway on the way here. He managed to come with a different truck, but he brought the wrong window, so he had to come again on another day.
I called my mom and told her what happened. She was speechless but in a way, it was funny all things went wrong on my birthday. I think I have never had a more memorable birthday than this.
