Small health rant

I had to go to the doctor last week because of some intestinal issues that have recently developed. Now I have to get a colonoscopy [image] I really don't wanna!!!!! ::) But IBS and colitis runs in the family.

Also have to get an abdominal ultra sound because when she pressed on my stomach it hurt like crazy around my appendix area, then she went back and pressed there again, harder! owwwwwww!

I think docs must be a bit sadistical! [image]

Oh yeah, I had to get a blood test today as well.And I have to see the neuro on the 20th about my continous headache.....getting old is not very fun!!!

Oh, good luck. It sounds awful to have health problems. It's better to have tests for them, than not. Doctors have so many treatments but can't start until the tests part of it all is over.

Well, best to take care of it. I don't have insurance and have alot of medical problems. I can't have any of the tests done or anything. It's terrible and leads to alot of stress. You're right, getting old is not fun, but beats the alternative. I am saving for my blood work now. I should have it every month, but can't afford it. Just had a hip x-ray and it cost me alot.

I know how you feel Diane, I've been there too. Hopefully, it is nothing serious, but at least the tests will help to determine what the problem is and or rule out what it isn't. Hope you start feeling better soon!

getting old isnt for babies lol
I did the colonoscopy this summer, and the worse part was after, (all that air in ya)
But i wasnt put to sleep, I watched it, it was neat

I hope you will be good through all of the tests. I've had two colonoscopies in the last five years. The second one was completed as the first one wasn't. But, my gastroenterologist is great and adjusted the scope size and the prep for the test was easier to tolerate. The second colonoscopy showed I had some polyps that he removed, and I have to go again in five years. But, I'm fine! It's really amazing what they can do for us without have to do any kind of invasive procedures now. We're really blessed with our medical system.

Make sure they are doing a colonoscopy and not a sigmoidoscopy.

Oh, I hate those tests that get really intimate with you. I have been mistreated by those in the medical profession and hate to have them touch me.

i had a colonosopy 5 years ago am due for another one this year but the last one i had they gave me all of the stuff they could to put me out but guess what it did not work i layed there looking at the screen the whole time they said you a hard one to put to sleep.had to swallow a camera onetime for a test so they could check out my heart.guess what i was suppost to be asleep i was a wake thru the whole thing.they said that hardly ever happens .God i hate it when you get old,
