Peter is this were not so sad it would be funny. I am way liberal. But John McCain even for us has been one of the few bright lights in the Republican party. Now he has turned into a person I dont know. The attacks by him and Palin are dangerous. When one hears shouts from the crowd of terrorist and kill him that has gone way beyond acceptable campaining. They say you cant yell fire in a theater and be protected by the Constituition but this is very close. Not only are they losing their bid for the presidency but they are affecdting candidates running for other offices. And then there is the one this McCain treasures the most. His reputatio. his sense of honor. I dont think any job is worth selling that out.

That's the whole crux of the issue. Character doesn't count, but if people had character we wouldn't be in the financial mess we're in. You can't assassinate someone who isn't alive and you can't assassinate character where there is none to begin with either.

People want to believe that their political leaders are better than they are. Well they can't use big words or talk in long sentences but people want to think of them as having some kind of moral authority instead of thinking of them as employees.

Well, now Papa McCain has to worry even more- here comes Obama's primetime fireside chat to show all the Americans what kind of character he really has...or how much money he's been able to raise...granted, I would rather give a giant chunk of my paycheck to the Democrats than to the Republicans. I don't know, this whole campaign has me jaded...and I didn't think anything could make me more jaded than watching Bush win a second term. Sigh...

"Palin is a successionist..."

"Sarah Palin is MARRIED to a man that was a member of an organization that wants to succeed from the union"

"DOES IT BOTHER YOU that Palin spoke at a convention for a group that wants to succeed from the Union?
DOES IT BOTHER YOU that Palin married a man that wants to succeed from the union?"

I don't have much hope for change with such employers, sorry.

Palin says "He's not one of us" and it depends who she is and the rest of "us" think we are, to care or not about the mud.

I think this last big mud fest is for the independents who haven't paid attention yet, and haven't decided yet, and now they are to be scared away.

SUCCESSION and SECESSION are very different things (unless you achieve your goal of secession, then I guess you succeeded at secession which would make succession and secession the same....)

Succession is also a word, of course, Rhetta. It always has been, as in the succession of kings and queens in an order of their reigns, for instance? It is certainly not used to indicate secession as in seceding from the union, however.
