Points, Points, Points

Lately, I've gotten emails and comments asking how I earn so many points. For the most part, it takes me quite a while to earn points- I went from July until last weekend without cashing out a single time. During that time, there was a promo that really helped me out. During that promo, everyone who posted summer themed pictures, with an appropriate tag, got 10 points per picture.

During that promo, I wound up earning almost $250 in points. It was a long promo, and it was very helpful to everyone who participated. Between that, and a lot of participation, I was able to earn quite a few points- which I plan to use for Christmas this year.

There really isn't a big secret to earning points. I post quite a bit, I have quite a few friends, I read what other people post, I comment on things, and I rate things. The biggest secret is just participating. Posting endless game after game isn't going to do a lot, because it's just a post. A lot of people avoid the games, and one theory is that you get points based on views- unique views, so 25 comments from 1 person won't neccessarily make your points jump.

People who participate more, and often, tend to earn points a bit faster. That's it, that's really all there is to it. Good luck to everyone in your goals and earnings here. I love getting the gift cards, but I love the connections, the interesting articles, the varied topics, the people, the pictures, the cute kids, the adorable pets, and so much more about Gather.

I may have lied- I think the secret to Gather is learning to love the site itself, and looking at it as a fun place to be, instead of a place to earn money. The points come, but the connections are great.
