"My husband owns the Papa Hunky and it was really a surprise to see the pictures online. He just bought it at the first of the year and he is the one that can tell you the history behind the name. I love the pictures and I'm going to download them in the morning. I also saw the message regarding Forrest Gump, in the movie, he is in bayou la batre and that is where my husband was raised...small world."
When I was in Alabama, whenever we were down by the sea and saw shrimp boats in my mind, I would start singing an old song I learned long ago. You know the song:
" Shrimp boats is a-comin, their sails are in sight
Shrimp boats is a-comin, there's dancin tonight
Why dontcha hurry hurry home, Why dontcha hurry hurry home, look here the
Shrimp boats is a comin, there's dancin tonight".
"Shrimp boat Coming Home", oil on linen by Anne Darby Parker
"Hey, Faith...look at the lines. Don't you just find shrimp boats fascinating? I need to take some pictures. Pull over...and let me get a few shots."
During my week stay with Faith I had shrimp several different times. No wonder when I got home, I printed out these images and hung them in my bedroom to remind me of that lovely week in April when shrimp was the food of choice.
