How Much Autumn Beauty Can you Stand?

The autumn colors are spreading rapidly around the lake.  Here's a few pictures I took this afternoon.

 

The blaze of autumn hues spread along the west shore.  The reds, gold, yellows and browns are taking over.  The greens can't hold out much longer.

On the south side, along the road, the beauty can distract drivers.  The road curves around the lake, so they need to watch the road.

Sunshine and a gentle breeze stirs up a shimmer that sparkles as bright as diamonds. 

Friends sometimes ask us why we want to live here where it's so quiet and there is nothing to do.  Imagine that!

All beautiful Jan, we must be thinking along the same lines, I took some pictures of trees across the street from my apartment, and I think I am going to put them up too, amature that I am at taking pictures, but fun.

I never get tired of autumn pictures Jan. People ask me why I want to live in the country. They don't realize that I have this peace and beauty every day and when I want what they have all I have to do is drive a few miles. It's wonderful.

I can take a lot of your photo essays, Jan. They are beautiful, I love the lake where you live. We still have warm weather here on Long Island so things are changing very slow this year. Everyone still has their impatients out from the summer yet. They look pretty funny with everyones Halloween decorations out. Keep posting your great fall pics.

Lovely photos Jan. We are heading out tomorrow after I get off work, to view the changing foliage. Last week we ventured out but were disappointed. A few trees had changed, but very few.
