Survivor generally has a tribal swap sometime throughout its run but on Survivor Gabon the tribes got swapping just a bit earlier then usual. On the last episode we saw Paloma sent home, even after trying to get the tribe to turn on enemy Ace. Following that leave the Kota tribe returned from their, much needed, Tribal Council with an outcast: Kelly. Being only friends with Paloma, Kelly now had nobody on the tribe and realized she would probably be the next to go if they lost. Since Paloma was gone to hate on Ace then moved onto hating Kelly, calling her a fat cow for no apparent reason at all.
Over at the Fang tribe things were back to normal with Randy telling everyone the truth about their rice situation yet them all still wanting to eat three meals a day. While Randy, Dan, Susie and Matty went to "collect fruit" the three remaining tribemates realized they had to bind together to stay in the game. GC, Crystal and Kenny then created the first alliance on Fang but they weren't the only one. Out in the woods the fruit gatherers were also creating an alliance splitting the tribe once again but not for long!
At a very sandy beach for being in Africa, Jeff presented each of the players with a ranking card. They were asked to rank each of their tribe members from most valuable to least. Once the overall ranking was created they were all placed on pedestals with their ranking on it. For Kota Marcus was ranked first followed by Ace, Bob, Charlie, Jacquie, Corinne, Sugar and lastly Kelly. The ranking for Kota started with Matty who was followed by Dan, Randy, Crystal, Kenny, GC and lastly Susie. Crystal was surprised to be ranked lower then Randy since he "sits around and complains all day" while Kelly was shocked to be last, even though it was pretty obvious. Of course the ranking wasn't simply for fun but for the tribal swap of course! Jeff told both Matty and Marcus that they would be the first to choose new tribe members and so the new tribes were formed. On the new Kota we have Marcus, Dan, Charlie, Corinne, Bob, Susie and Randy. For the new Fang we have Matty, Kenny, GC, Crystal, Ace, Jacquie and Kelly. Sugar was the only one not chosen and sent to Exile Island where she chose the "Sugar Shack" for comfort and sun bathed for two days straight.
Back at the new Kota things got back to before with everyone working. Corinne let everyone know that Bob works in his sleep, making Susie realize that's just what she had to do to stay in the game. Susie was worried that being the least physical member of the tribe would send her home if they lost so she picked up work at camp. Others realized her effort and even debated about keeping Susie over Randy if he couldn't perform in the challenges. On the new Fang things were much different now that GC, Crystal and Kenny were in power. After talking they realized that Kelly was an outcast from her fellow past-Kota members and decided to scoop her up making them a overruling four. They knew Kelly was strong and Kenny said it best when he simply said they were using her for a vote.
It was then time for the two new tribes to show their stuff at the immunity challenge. It was a mix between water polo and lacrosse with the players floating on individuals rafts. They were each stationed at one end of a water court and were to use their paddles not only to move around but also to pass a ball. The first tribe to score three points on the opposing tribe would win immunity and be safe from Tribal Council. Although Fang had four of the most physical people out there they once again lost horribly. Crystal, Kenny and Kelly hardly moved their boats and were simply the reason they lost. If it wasn't for Matty blocking the goal in the end it would have been the easiest win in Survivor history. Must come with the tribe name I guess.
With Fang once again going to Tribal Council it was time to see who to send home. Although with Kelly as the fourth member of the alliance, her lack of skill at the challenge put a thought into GC's mind that she had to go. Jacquie was probably the strongest member of their team in the challenge but they felt she was too close with Sugar to keep her in. The alliance knew that Sugar would be on Exile Island for four days now and had a great chance at winning the hidden idol. That thought scared them as she could give the idol to either Jacquie or Ace, screwing them up at the next tribal even though they had the numbers. Once Jacquie got whiff that she might be going things got a bit odd. The strongest woman in Gabon started begging and crying to stay in the game. It was somewhat pathetic the way she acted but it almost worked. With Kelly's strong words against Crystal at Tribal it almost seemed sure she would be going but alas Jacquie was sent packing as the fourth woman voted out of Gabon. Next week it seems GC goes missing following a romp with an elephant. Should be a good one!
