J, I never knew it till the other day that indigo, lavender blue and periwinkle blue are almost the same color...interchangeable one of the color charts said.

What a beautiful photo essay, Bob. I have been amazed to notice that the wild flowers continue to repeat in yellow, white and either blue or lavender. When one dies off of a color, another comes up to take its place... It is so amazing to me to have watched that this year...

Magi, I have more things that are "out of the box" and just floating around. Like leaves in the wind, ideas come and go...sometimes, if I run quick, I just might actually capture the idea and pen it real quick and post it before I start second guessing it.

Your poem makes this so gay, and the pictures are fabulous. I do love that peacock. Does he wander in the woods around your place? One of these days I'll tell you a story about the peacocks who roosted on our roof, but that is for another time.

You do know how to take the beauty in the world and put it in our hearts. This is a gift.

This was so much fun to read. I actually envisioned the "cat in the hat" going through these colors :) This would be great to use to teach children their colors. BTW, the pictures are wonderful.

I think I have been teaching young ones too long and reading too much Dr. Seus!

Jan, I actually thought my other photo/essay might win....this one was done in a whimsical moment one night late. I had all these pictures of periwinkel blue and I thought "What the heck am I going to do with these?"
