The labyrinth shows me that my path will lead me to God without fail, without danger. I will not be lost. Even when I do not know where I am, the path leads me to God, for I set my intention to seek God long ago, and there my life path will surely lead.
A god who could permit a soul to become lost is not a merciful or loving god. Even if I turn away from God, my path must lead to Him, because otherwise, God chooses to love some and not others, and this cannot be.
The grand metaphor in Judeo-Christianity is "father." A parent never abandons the child, even when appearances say otherwise. The course of the labyrinth was laid before the first step was taken. The road of the seeker leads to God.
God, the ground of all being, cannot be escaped, much less allow some of creation to "be lost." The soul is not a separate possession; neither is it separate from the souls of others, nor from God. It is one with God, and thus with all creation.
The ego convinces one of a separation, and thus an ability to become lost that does not exist. The work of a seeker is to see the ego and acknowledge it for what it is—an illusion. This permits the seeker to become aware of his or her oneness with God and all creation.
The path to God does not involve overcoming any obstacle but the ego. All obstacles in the seeker's path are manifestations of the ego.

It is a simple yet beautiful message.
Many fingers pointing at the same moon.
