Local family of Mallard Ducks

Next door to my friend Joyce lives there is a duck pond. This


year one of the Mallard ducks had 11 or 12 babies. There are 10


remaining. Apparently some got eaten by other birds.  I managed


to get a few pictures today .

These are terrific pictures . How nice to live close to a Duck Pond. Does your neighbour let you come and feed the ducks? A nice relaxing thing to do!

Yes, we can feed them if we want , I have not done so , I would like to be able to feed them something besides bread ( a lot of people feed them bread , it doesn't seem healthy to me )

LOL , Hilary you are so right , there is a male duck around there someplace but I didn't get a shot of it .

hey that big guy looks like a goose :) they get the great looks cause it's the only way to attract us gals LOL you're lucky to get 9 or 10 outta a fledgling, usually ours get snatched up by the fox and coyotes :) they are soooo soft, thx for sharing :)
