The fair is in town here. My husband and I were able to go yesterday. It's the first time I've been to the fair in probably about 15 years. I was really excited to go and enjoy with my husband.
The first thing we did was purchase those ride arm bands. They were expensive, but by the time we figured up all the rides we rode, it was really worth the price. Then we went and ate lunch. Yummy fair food! After that, we rode a few rides. We rode the ferris wheel first. We sat close together and looked down at the other rides and shows going on. Then we went in some of those fun house rides where things are moving and stuff. It was really childish, but I really enjoyed being a child again. There's just something about being childish every once in a while that keeps you young.
After that, it was time for a break. We went in and looked at some of the pictures and displays that had won prizes. There were some really lovely photographs, but we decided that next year, we were going to try submitting some of our stuff! We also saw some roosters and pigeons, lambs, and cows. It was smelly but really interesting. You never really can understand how big a cow is until you are right beside. Man those things are huge! Then they even had this exhibit at the fair where there were all these old buildings. It was fun looking through them. My husband and I both said how interesting it would be to live in a log cabin back when there was no electricity. I'd love to just try it for a while.
By then it was time for a little snack. My husband just had to try a deep fried snickers (because he had never had one.) I on the other hand never get any snow cones around here, so I had one of those. My husband was a little disappointed with his Snickers. It just wasn't what he was expecting. I was happy with my snow cone. Then we watched an animal show. They showed tigers doing all sorts of stuff as well as some interesting dogs. It was great to be able to sit and rest our feet at that point.
When the show was over, we rode a few more rides including my favorite of the day. It was a haunted mansion ride. It was really simple and silly, but my hubby and I sat close together and screamed our heads off for the fun of it. Then we wasted some money on some games, had an early supper, and left.
I'm so glad I was able to go this year. I had so much fun and created a lot of great memories. This is something I would definitely consider doing again next year. The memories were well worth the money.
