Some Dear Visitors

Shortly after I got back from visiting my grandmother on Sunday, we had some very deer visitors....

They were quite dear.

Patricia, they actually seemed to be. It was weird that they actually allowed me to get that close. They didn't bother bolting until I started to leave. Weird deer....

Lovely pictures - we have a doe with one fawn and another doe with two... I've not had much luck taking pictures of them, though, because in the evening it's just hard to get good pictures from INSIDE, and if I try to go outside they spook...

It's funny that I read this article. On the way home from taking hubby to work this morning, a deer ran out in front of the truck in front of mine! It was spooky! Luckily no one hit her and she bounded off into the trees!

I have deer come up occasionally, but cant get a great shot of them. All my doors squeak and when I open one to get a photo, they bolt

At one time I was an avid hunter, but now I just enjoy looking at them.

I am on oxygen and my hose dont go that far. I dont believe in leaving anything laying.
I never did the hunting except for food, that was necessary to feed my family. Plus raising a garden to have veggies. I now have to cook from cans a lot.

Hi Ginny I keep them that way on purpose. Living out this far, I can tell which door or cabinet is being opened. It is safer there than anywhere. But you never know when it could be that one bad person messing around in this 18,000 acres of pine forest around me. I have great neighbors, but they have lives. Donald cant always be home, neither can the one neighbor who checks on me when he is gone. He works for my Uncle and when we need him is exactly when someone picks him up.

Ginny, this is definitely my way of "shooting" deer. I don't eat venison, so they are quite safe from me.

Norma, no squeaky doors here, but I honestly don't know how I've gotten so close to them. In order to get these shots, I had to walk over to the barn; they had plenty of opportunity to bolt. I'm not that stealthy-- especially not in boots (my preferred footwear when stomping around here).
