I keep reading where people are saying "big deal about Ayers because he and Obama are not friends....and anyway, he bombed stuff when Obama was 8". One thing I really want to know is if you commit murder, get away with it, say you are proud of it and everything is ok? It is just not Ayers....although it seems they were more than casual acquantences. There are plenty more. How many questionable associations can be brought to light for one person before people legitimately can ask about the "judgment" of a man that wants to hold the highest position in the US, that of the presidency? More importantly, if a person surrounds themselves, consistently, with questionable characters, is it fair to start associating that person with company he chooses to keep?
Dr. Khalid al-Mansour, a key adviser to a Saudi billionaire who had mentored the founding members of the Black Panthers. his writings and books are packed with anti-American rhetoric reminiscent of the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Obama's disgraced former pastor. In a 1995 book, "The Lost Books of Africa Rediscovered," he alleged that the United States was plotting genocide against black Americans. Al-Mansour's more recent videotaped speeches focus on Muslim themes, and abound with anti-Semitic theories and anti-Israel rhetoric.
Sam Graham-Felsen, a journalist-on-leave from The Nation, joined Obama for America in March 2007 where he works for the New Media department as the official blogger, daily presenting the campaign's public face. Now he's under fire for his reputed Marxist sympathies from bloggers at Common Ills on the left and Little Green Footballs on the right. Graham-Felsen, according to a 2003 article in the Harvard Crimson, adorned one corner of his shared student apartment with "a Communist Party flag ... bought on their trip to Russia the summer after sophomore year. According to Huffington Post, who listed information about paid staffers on the Obama payroll, from America campaign 2007 second quarter report, Graham-Felsen is a paid staffer for Barack Obama.
Emil Jones Jr. the president of the Illinois Senate, amounts to Mr. Obama's political godfather and was an important part of his longshot victory for U.S. Senate in 2004. He helped the little-known politician meet the right people, and he picked Mr. Obama to handle high-profile legislation during the two years leading up to the election. Mr. Jones is known for steering state money to a few favored institutions, including some that employ his relatives.
What about Rashid Khalidi, a Palestinian scholar and author on Middle Eastern affairs who has called Israel a racist state bent on creating "an apartheid system." He's also a friend of Mr. Obama. The Khalidis hosted a political fundraiser for Mr. Obama in 2000, and the Woods Fund charity gave money to the Arab-American Action Network, run by Mrs. Khalidi, while Mr. Obama served on the charity's board.
What about his pastor of almost 20 years.....Jeremiah Wright?
What about someone else that Barack Obama said was a spiritual adviser and/or guide, Senator James Meeks, another pastor associated with Obama by his own statements, also had a video thrown out to the masses with the same type of speech as Wright.
Obama really loved Saul Alinsky who wrote: "There's another reason for working inside the system. Dostoevsky said that taking a new step is what people fear most. Any revolutionary CHANGE must be preceded by a passive, affirmative, non-challenging attitude toward CHANGE among the mass of our people.
What about Father Michael Pfleger whose affinity to Louis Farrakhan is offensive to Catholics nationwide.
What about Obama's mentor "Frank" is Frank Marshall Davis, who was publicly identified as a member of the Communist Party USA (CPUSA). Obama, in his book, Dreams From My Father, refers to him repeatedly as just "Frank," without a middle or last name.
What about Kwame Kilpatrick who Obama introduced in front of a packed house at the Detroit Economic Club on May 7th, 2007. By March, 2008, Kwame Kilpatrick had been charged with 10 felonies including perjury, obstruction of justice and assaulting a public safety officer. He will be sentenced October 28th. In June, Kwame Kilpatrick gave Barack Obama his endorsement as a Democratic Party Superdelegate.
In 2006, The Chicago Tribune reported that Illinois state treasurer Alex Giannoulias had loaned money to crime figures. Barack Obama endorsed Giannoulias for the state treasurer job the year before. Giannoulias contributed $7000 to Obama's Senatorial campaign
Marilyn Katz, a former member of the '60's anti-war group SDS, led protestors against the police outside the Democratic Convention in 1968. Protestors threw nails in the street to impede the police and clashed with police on this occasion and others. Katz has said of her activities that she wanted the U.S. to become a socialist paradise. She is a close friend of Barack Obama. Katz is a member of Obama's national finance committee.
