John McCain is hurting. He is hurting badly. Americans are rejecting his no-policy talk policy and his running mate can't talk about anything but maverick, slogans, and dumb talk spiced up with folksy tones. They are desperate, they are confused, and options are running out.
McCain is erratic. Were he president today, he would deploy the nukes, call in a draft, and place all military personel in high alert.
Oh, and freeze spending.
Close the port of entries. Nobody gets in and out the US.
You want to know how McCain would run the country? Look at his campaign.
We've done with the shock VP without vetting, gas tax holiday, and campaign suspension. Short of gimmicks McCain is throwing mud.
Why the mud now? Previous elections have taught us the 10% who have not made up their minds do so in the next two weeks and many will be voting by mail starting now.
Several McCain advisers are skeptical voters will respond to Ayers and Wright. They are advising him to "beef up" his economic agenda. Think McCain is listening to them? Not a chance. No matter who surrounds you, a president needs the judgment to pick the right advice. McCain does not have that judgment. He has proved it time and again in the last three months alone.

They know they can't hang him with the truth, so I expect them to pull out all the stops now.
What does it say to one who responds to it?
So considering Obama to be a "weak" candidate is faulty logic. In reality the fact that a relative unknown, black man with a funny name who has been accused of being a muslim and a few other things not only won the nomination ahead of a well-known "inevitable" candidate and is leading in the general election polls against an established opponent is a sign of just how strong he is. You know that the last two elections have been very close, and that the electorate has been pretty evenly divided for some time. So the idea that this was a shoo-in election for the Democrats has been a canard all along. The fact that the election could, though not necessarily, end up being a definitive win for Obama (or less probably but still possibly McCain) is a testament to the strength of the man.
I was and AM a Clinton loyalist......both Clintons. Did I REALLY want her to win knowing the next four years would simply be a repeat of open season and second guessing about every move either of them made? Hell NO! Let's not have any second guessing about if polls would be where they are now if Hillary was on the ticket with Obama.
We have a good ticket and if they lose it will only be because this country is afraid to grow up and take responsibility for the future.
Whoever gets to be president will preside over serious bad times. This country is in for a world of hurt. Brought to you by your local Republican deficit.
