I live with my husband of sixteen years and my dog, Tinkerbell. Yes, she is a Chihuahua, but she is not JUST one. She is also part Pomeranian. We call her a Chia Pom. She is our best model for our photography biz as she LOVES having her picture taken. She is also the best lap puppy, and snuggle bunny in the world.
We live in a small southern town with growing pains. Seems like every day when I get out and drive around, I see a new business or a new house. Being surrounded by major metropolitan areas will do that I understand.
My house is a rambling country two story. My kids have both moved away, either to an apartment or to college, and so I spend a lot of time in this big place listening to the echoes. I am not a total empty nester yet, as the college kid comes home about once a month. It's like Christmas when she does too.
Have you ever lost the war with laundry thanks to an adult child? it's scary! You cannot find any of your clothes and they can't find any of theirs. It's like the whole laundry room becomes a major black hole.
but it's nice too. You don't want to see them hop back into their car and pull away, waving to you like this is no big deal to them.
It is a big deal. Trust me.
