Today we took the pontoon boat out for a color cruise. It's a small lake, so cruise is a somewhat of an exaggeration, but that's what we did. We cruised, slowly, taking in the beauty of the autumn colors. Starting from our dock, we saw trees dappled with fall color. The reds looked as if they'd been done with a painting sponge.

The northwest corner of the lake.

Moving along the shore, we see more color spreading.

Autumn's natural beauty is often reflected in the lake.
This tree looks as if Mother Nature chose to paint bits of red on carefully and slowly.

This burst of color is at the northeast corner of the lake. Each day, more leaves turn.

These two houses are for sale. They need some TLC, but they're priced really low to sell.

This oak tree is on our property. It's curious why some leaves turn color before others. Nature's secret?

We brought this burning bush along with us from our previous home. It also looks as if it's being painted leaf by leaf. Here's a close up:

In a week or so, it will be flaming red all over.
I hope you've enjoyed your color cruise on Skidway Lake. I will post more photos as the color continues to spread.
