An Interesting Question For All Of You...

Someone posted something that made me think about this. A while ago, I saw one of the "Left Behind" films about the rapture of the Church. In the film, everyone disappears who goes up in the rapture. From the way the Bible reads, I think that is a pretty accurate description of what will happen. However, it dawned on me that since our bodies stay on this earth when we die and our spirits go to Heaven or Hell depending on who you've served while on earth, what if when we go up in the rapture, all of our bodies are left behind and there are suddenly all of these dead bodies everywhere?

I'm just curious about how people would react if suddenly all of these people around them suddenly die inexplicably for no reason (as far as they know). Even if we all just disappear from sight, just think of the reaction on earth.

Anyway, it was a curious thought.

That is a great question, Kimberly. I remember when I read the first of the Left Behind series and when I saw the movie. (They were not much the same, as often happens with books turned into movies.) I thought about those same things.

In the books didn't the bodies turn to dust. Never watched the movies but do have them.

I never read the books and have only seen parts of the films. Every time I tune in on TBN, it seems to be 20 or 30 minutes into the films. One of these days I'll get to see the whole thing. I just don't have time to read books except when I'm on the bus and half the time I'm too sleepy to read then.

It was my understanding that their bodies would be transformed in a twinkling of an eye, as was the city of Enoch, and they would be made resurrected bodies and taken to heaven. But I know that some religions teach that they will also be heaven's messengers to those who will be left behind.

I believe that our bodies will be transformed in an instant like Enoch. I think it will be believers who are already here, who don't currently believe in the rapture but will once it happens, who will witness to others. I think once the rapture happens, people who didn't believe before will seek out the truth from God and become more on fire than ever. It is these people who will likely be the ones who stand for God when they tatoo forheads with the 666 code and who will likely be put to death for refusing. That's just my perspective but I think it's pretty Biblically based. I am no expert but I have studied the Word and learn as much as I can.

I went to the 2009 International Prophecy Conference in St. Petersburg, Florida. Every one of the guest speakers, who were also ministers and book authors, believed in a rapture.

One of them went to great lengths to prove that there will be one. He had a DVD package for sale and used Old Testament Holy Days and celebrations. I wrote to a Messianic Jew to get his study on the subject.
