That is horrible! If he wanted out of the marriage he should have done that first, then get himself a girlfriend. Makes you wonder what the girlfriend is thinking, being with a married man with kids. I feel awful for your friend! It sounds like you did the best thing you could do, was to be there for her.

It is not his first girlfriend. He also had a year long affair with the babysitter a few years ago, and I am sure there are more. The whole story is that he is scum.

Well, in my book...anyone who cheats is at fault. Now, I do have to admit that I should not have attacked ALL men. Some women are just as bad.

I'm quite sure that she is really hurting right now, but the best thing for her is to get out, get everything she can from the bast@rd and not look back.

Sheli, that is what I told her. She doesn't know it yet, but she is better off without him. On top of all of this he has destroyed her credit, maxed out the home equity to buy big boy toys, took her name off the house, and owes the IRS over ten thousand. He makes over $150 K a year too. Crazy! Four kids, ten years of marriage, and blows it all away because he wants a 25 year old. So Ken, you are right, she is left with all of the crap! He didn't allow her to work either, so now she has to find a way to make things work.

Wow - what a creep. Help her through this. You know and we know, she'll be happier in the long run.

You must have gotten a message from her Sue, I am glad you were there when she needed you and the kids are all right. sounds like her husband is missing a few buttons.

I hope she takes him for all she can get in divorce court!!!!!! ALIMONY, CHILD SUPPORT, have her go back to college and make him pay for it stating she was a homemaker at his request and now needs life skills to survive without him. She can get quite a bit out of him and may not even have to work, that would be a sweet revenge!

Your poor friend. It sounds like it's time she took out the trash. While she is hurting now, with your support, she will heal and hopefully find a man worthy of her love.

Just be there for her, try not to judge and listen, listen, listen- she needs you and without you, she would struggle harder right now. You being there means so much to your friend- that is very important

PS. It happens to the best of us .... I was in a relationship for 5 YEARS and found out my man cheated on me from his sister. At first, I thought it was her lying due to being mad and wanting our relationship to end, but in all reality, even though she didn't like me, she was telling me the truth. I confronted my man (then) and said, "Were you at so and so with so and so on so and so date?" And he responded.. "uuuh... uhhh.. I don't know." I told him to give me a straight answer or it was going to be "over with" and he still refused to tell me the truth. So, I later went on with my life, struggling in my next relationship with all the emotional baggage, then I went on again, and now am in a GREAT relationship and I'd say, it was worth the effort moving on because I have someone who can be on my own level, understand me, and in the long run- I got a better love than I ever had before- and I'd have to say this man I'm with now was my 1st TRUE love... after we had sex, I had that feeling-- if anyone knows what I'm talking about? The feeling of happiness... the feeling of "I never felt this much respect before." ... it was just great and better than my past and I'm glad I saved my virginity for the man I'm with now and not regretting it in my 5 year rocky road relationship. I have a better love- and a greater love than ever in my past and I also have two children. Nothing could be greater.

Tell her, she may be struggling now, but times will get better and they always do and things happen for a reason and will work out one way or another.
