A thoughtful, introspective
melody that transports you
into a land of lavender dreams.

Imagine, just for a moment
the sky glowing at dusk,
the dusty blue that borders
on violet, falling gently from
the sky and alighting on a
flower or a bush and as you
gaze in wonder at this miracle
your soul is carried into the
upper reaches of the atmosphere,
where acceptance is finally found.

They bloom in a brief month-long gift bestowed to us during spring to summer (depending on where one lives) and there's an enormous one in the yard next to my new house. So your lavender/blue melody sings loudly in my dreaming too.

Just perfect :)
the move went well, and we're all very happy with our new accommodations. the most significant change in moving to a leafy cul de sac is the lack of traffic noise. i can now speak on the phone without locking myself in the bathroom! (email tomale, now is time for bedliness)
Carolyn the jacaranda is gorgeous. Where did you move to?
Beautiful jacarandas Carolyn.
I had a true cottage garden with tons of herbs and lavender and an entire collection of roses.
Thanks for the memories, Bob. I've always thought there is something etheral about that color.
Lavender's blue, dilly dilly,
Lavender's green
When you are King, dilly dilly,
I shall be Queen
Who told you so, dilly dilly,
Who told you so?
'Twas my own heart, dilly dilly,
That told me so
Call up your friends, dilly, dilly
Set them to work
Some to the plough, dilly dilly,
Some to the fork
Some to the hay, dilly dilly,
Some to thresh corn
Whilst you and I, dilly dilly,
Keep ourselves warm
Lavender's blue, dilly dilly,
Lavender's green
When you are King, dilly dilly,
I shall be Queen
Who told you so, dilly dilly,
Who told you so?
'Twas my own heart, dilly dilly,
That told me so

You did not "steal" that image, you just borrowed it. And yes, you need to unpack that camera of yours and start taking pictures of that tree.
I'm glad you guys are all settled in your new place. Now I can send you a housewarming prize!
I know you probably dream in lavender....I just know it.
I can't believe I didn't post this to "Triple Name Group". Actually I was having trouble publishing this morning. The Gremlims were at it again...so I imagine the third time at it I just published to a few groups. Corrected that now. The children are at gym.
Jacarandas grow in Florida? Wow!
For Rainbow Connection the color is periwinkle blue...I actually looked up the color in my color wheel and found it was the same as "lavender blue" and "indigo".....and of course that got me thinking about the poem I had written this week-end.
That song was going through my head early this morn.
I will have to go to your profile and see where lavender does not grow!
Your article is Featured in the Triple Name Club.
Lovely words, Bob.........I love periwinkle blue and your piece is beautiful!
Yesterday was that kind of a day. Would you believe I stayed in my pajamas the WHOLE day. Heck, it was cold and rainy...just the perfect day to stay at home.
I'm glad I provided some respite from the maddening world.
It is DAMN annoying when Gather eats my copy!
Carolyn's "internet image" that she "borrowed" made me gasp too. Just a gorgeous tree.
I love the wafting scent of lavender ... and blue is my favourite colour. Thus I also love jacaranda trees, just like Carolyn has posted.
Thank you for featuring my photo-poem in the "Chat and Connections Garden Cafe". Do you have images of jacaranda trees hanging in the Cafe?
Just a gorgeous color, Necee.
Blessings and best wishes - S.
