My fair winnings. ~Update~

All of the photos I entered in the fair were awarded blue ribbons, one photo recieved best in class. Can you guess which one?

The mushroom & selective color were Dimensional lot, the face was B&W lot, the butterfly/marigolds was Misc lot, and the spider/sunflower bud was Color class. Best in Class from what I can tell is the best of all the photos in the adult division. Now I want to say at this point that there were so many blue ribbons that I hardly noticed any red or white ones. Hubby said there was an equal amount of red & blue, if we go back I will actually look. FYI they all had blue ribbons on them even though there were two in the same lot. I am more happy about the Best in Class ribbon. I can hardly wait to upload the shot of the photos with the ribbons so you can all see how pretty the BIC ribbon was! I will post those shots on Tuesday (10/7)

I really love the black and white, it is just so peaceful. . .. but the selective color is my favorite. It has to be one of those two :0)

What fair was this? Was it local??

My favorite is the fourth one with the color and b & W background. I love that look.

My neighbor is in charge of the Reflections at one of the elementary schools, and she knows Anela took the shots...she was there for some of the hundreds of mantid shots Ang. took.

You can get the shots too Tiffany, you just have to play around with it.Try using flower setting which is a macro mode that gets better color.

Thanks on all Dove. I used PhotoImpression after I made a copy of the image & turned it to B&W with Picasa2. Basically I cut all the area I did not want on the color image. I then cut and pasted the remaining parts of the color image and superimposed it over the same image in B&W. While it was still in layers I cleaned up and stray marks and areas that were messed up so it would blend with the B&W. Any places where I cut too much away, I gently added color so that all the areas I wanted to still have color would.

Thanks so much. All the photos entered were shot with my FujiFilm FinePix S700 but the majority of my newer images are solely from my Nikon D60
